There will be a rest stop at the Deli/7-11 at mile 22 and we can bring it down to the beach (concession stand might not be open when we get to the beach). We will average about 15.5 and ride a bit higher on the straights. If you have ridden with me before you know no one gets left behind and we have a great ride. Hope to see some of my Montauk Century training crew!

This will be the start of the SEAGULL CENTURY training rides. You DO NOT have to be doing the century to go on any of these rides. The first ride will be about 35 miles since we all should be capable of doing this distance by now. Each week the ride will increase by 5 miles. By the time all training rides are completed I’m sure we will be able to do an easy 100 on a flat course, in Maryland, at a B pace in order to enjoy the ride and scenery. We will take turns at the front, this way you can enjoy the wind in your face and be the first to smell the roses, or the road kill.
Today’s route will take us to Ridge The average pace for the ride will be between 14.7 and 15 mph +/- Depending on the wind, road conditions, the dew point, and the group. Naturally the road speed will be slightly higher (15-17) to produce the average. Around mile 18 or so we’ll make a pit stop; you can go to Mickey D’s or the deli. There will be few long spots where one can stretch the legs if desired, working off any extra calories gained at the rest stop.
Please check the ride calendar for any weather, or last minute cancellations which will be posted no later than 7:30AM if necessary. My cell number is 631.484.3490; call anytime if you have questions about this ride or need directions to the start.

How about taking a ride to Great River today? We will go the usual route through Connetquot Park and then do a loop in Heckscher Park where one can stretch the legs a bit. Looking for a good base level A (but up to A+, AA at times possible with wait-ups as needed) pace. No one is getting dropped. Good B+ riders are welcome.
In general I want to see this smooth super efficient team effort to optimize time!!! Smooth but fast in general. Little playing allowed at the few dedicated hilly sections (you will find out). Reassembly after that -- always, no worries.
** Come for a training ride -- "as fast as you are working with me" ** ---- old notes ---- I classified it back down to A all-over -- but we will go some sections at A+..AA pace for sure (if you go and work with me) -- A and good B+ riders are always welcome, may form a trailing group, if any? -- learn how to work as a team!! -- we will have some wait ups (on top of the 1st lil hill if needed) but we will not wait on every turn -- as I also classified it as TEAM, what means exactly this -- stay all together as much as possible and help each other for most efficiency and best pace w/o dropping any one -- regardless, unless on riders request or extreme mismatch.... -- you better be able sit in easy at 19..21mph and try to handle a few faster sections (slow down afterwards for reassembly) -- have fun!
Rocky Point 2 Iron Peer Beach Park for quick snack watching the sound and reassembly, Coffee/Refreshments now in Jamesport Duffys Deli. Watch for weather related updates or delays -- will post any change or cancellations by very latest start time -1 hour at the day of ride, if unsure, contact me. Let's Go Flying. Starts promptly as indicated on top at Tildas Bake Shop, typical moving time 2h45..3h depending on you. Starts out with some rollers on North Country Rd to warm up, will go fast, but will do the best to reassemble group after 1st climb(s) and as needed, group stays together as a Team AND SHARES THE WIND if any and has fun like few flying birds! Read here for past ride logs, stories, photos and details: http://pyzahl.blogspot.com/search?q=RP2IPBPhttp://www.sbraweb.org/sites/all/modules/extlink/extlink_s.png) 2px 50% no-repeat;">(link is external)http://www.sbraweb.org/sites/all/modules/extlink/extlink_s.png) 2px 50% no-repeat;">http://www.sbraweb.org/sites/all/modules/extlink/extlink_s.png) 2px 50% no-repeat;">(link is external)
However, this is a team style training ride, lean and execute team play, work together not to show off -- with exception of a few designated sections to play... with following regrouping.

No one left behind but we would like to keep the group moving so we are not out all day especially if it's going to be hot. There will be a food stop at some point but make sure you bring snacks, GU or whatever you need to keep you going. Please have appropriate water bottles and other necessary equipment such as extra tubes, CO cartridges, etc. If you have any questions, please contact me.

Last week we did a half century, we should all be proud of ourselves; great job; let’s keep up the good work. Today’s route will be similar to ride #3 taking us to Eastport, Remsenburg, Westhampton Beach, and points east using Dune Road. If the wind is in the wrong direction we will take the inland route for the comfort off all; probably returning via Dune road. The average pace for this ride will be between 14.9 & 15.3 mph (you’ve done it before) +/-, depending on the wind and other factors which could change the average. The road speed will be 15-17.5 mph to produce the average. Around mile 28 or so there will be a food/pee stop at Tully’s (if they are open for clam chowder) or the Green Door, or save you appetite for the next stop which is the Beach Bakery. There will be about a 10 mile leg stretch for those who desire.
Be sure you bring water and something with electrolytes in it. I’m still working on the final route which will only change the total mileage a wee bit one way or the other; promise. Supplies after the ride; could be! Cheese and crackers maybe.
