I am running a golf outing today, and have changed my original afternoon posting due to the anticipated afternoon heat. Now I am leading a quick early morning ride, with a break at Bean & Bagel. This is a structured C+ ride which will average 12.5 - 13.0, depending on wind, riders, etc. There will be cue sheets and no one will be dropped.
NOTE: Park in the King Kullen shopping center, along the driveway behind the 7-11, or in the first row adjacent to the driveway, just down from McDonald's. Please do not park in the spots along Chapman.
How about going to Yaphank today? The average pace for the ride will be between 14.7 and 15.0 mph +/- depending on the wind direction and other factors which could put the ride in the lower part of the "B" range. The road speed on this ride will be between 15.0 and 17 mph. There are a few places along the route where one can stretch the legs if desired. Around mile 19 there will be a bathroom/deli stop.
Please check the ride calendar for any weather, or last minute cancellations which will be posted no later than 7:30AMif necessary. My cell number is 631.484.3490; call anytime if you have questions about this ride or need directions to the start.
