    Glacier Ridge Trail Report ...

    Folks,
I missed the message on the CLIMB website asking people to stay off the trails in March ... so don't just check the Trail Red/Green light like I did.

Anyway, Ron and I did Glacier Ridge instead as it drains better then E. Setauket. It was really a lot of work and we only did 5 miles. The bare spots in the trail were wet but not muddy yet. The snow covered spots (about 75%) were either covering ice or in some spots were 3-4” of crunchy soft snow … some with tracks and they were difficult to steer through. On the black diamonds where there were no other track marks and only shoe prints we had to abandon and walk back to the Main trail. Some of the moguls were covered with snow making them a little more difficult. We also got to clear away a number of trees across the trail that had been brought down by the snow. What fun!

If you ride the woods ... don't ride in the mud as it will cause more damage ....
