    2016 Empire State Senior Games

Here's a link to all of the information you'll need to enter the Empire State Senior Games, which are still going strong. http://www.nyseniorgames.com/filestore/2016%20Registration%20booklet%20march%2011a.pdf. The city of Cortland provides support for the games, which are basicaly self funded by the competitors themselves. The cycling events consist of 5 and 10K time trials and a 20K road race, all to be held on June 18th. Long Island has had little representation at the games I 've been to and I think we should show what the down staters can do. I've ridden in several of them in Syracuse and Cortland and won several medals in my age group. The age groups are in 5 year increments from 50 on up as far as you want to go, so everyone has a good chance of medaling, especialy us old guys. If you have other talents as well, mine's archery, you can enter as events many as you want to, as long as the times don't conflict.

This is a qualifying year for the National Senior Games (The Senior Olympics) in 2017, which will be held in 2017 in Birmingham, AL. If you place in your state games, you'll be eligible to attend these games The National Games draw over 10,000 participants in all sports and the competition there is on much higher level, since you have the best from each state there.

If you have any questions, I'll try to answer any replies on the forum or you can email me at
