Details (RL read field instructions carefully):

Let's get back out there. Glen and I have been thinking about this all winter. We will be posting several rides a week from the same start point. Glen will lead the B+ group and I will follow a minute or two later with the B/B+ group. I will strictly adhere to the guidelines of the ride classification and shoot for an average of 16-16.5. Glen will do the same with his group. Once we get in shape we will change the ride classifications to fit the speeds we will go for each new ride. Please read the posting I have put on the website to get more information about our goal. The ride that I am leading will be pacelining where appropriate. We will go to the Manorville McD's and head back to the sunshine mall. Please check the ride status that morning to see if any changes or cancelations have been made. I will post changes by 6:30 am. 516-672-1564

**CHANGE 03-11-15 7:30PM. After checking out several roads today there might be a few detours along the planed route due to large areas of melting snow which might increase the total mileage to 25 miles. Just wanted to give you a heads up on the mileage increase so it wouldn’t be a surprise. Whatever pace the group safely comes in at works for me.**

This is a NOT SURE RIDE since I’m not sure which way I will be going. I’m sorry that I’m a little vague but let’s think safety first! I will check out some roads on Wednesday looking to find a route which will have little or no water on it from the melting snow. Since this is my first ride in awhile it will probably come in with an average around 14mph. I would rather slow down and watch for all the new potholes than fall. There will be a rest stop along the way.

My cell number is 631.484.3490; call anytime if you have questions about this ride or need directions to the start. Please check the ride calendar for any weather, or last minute cancellations which will be posted no later than 8:00AM if necessary.

Details (RL read field instructions carefully):

Park in the King Kullen lot closest to Montauk Highway. This ride will be similar to the ride posted on Wed. 3/11, but with a slightly higher speed, between 13.5 and 14mph, provided that road conditions don't slow us down. I rode the route, and conditions seemed ok on Sunday afternoon. I wanted this ride to be a Bean and Bagel ride, but when I rode that route conditions were not good. See Wed. posting for more ride details. For questions/info. contact Bill Gravitz at 631-356-3036. Make sure you check out your bike and kit if you have not ridden in a while. Bring a rag or towel to wipe your bike down post ride if we hit snowmelt.
