Beginner riders are invited to join us for this slow paced (9 mile average) and very safe beginner ride, which is being run in conjunction with the Town of Riverhead Recreation Department's "Bike to Breakfast." This event includes a stop at Briermere Farm where, for the special price of $3 (which the Town will be collecting before the ride departs), you will get a muffin or scone and a beverage (coffee, juice, or water). An added safety aspect of this ride is that it will be escorted by the Riverhead Police. A representative from Twin Forks Bicycle will also be on hand to check tire pressure and address any bike issues which may arise. Please arrive at 8:30 AM, when we will discuss bike and rider safety, before departing at 9:00. The first half of the ride will be approximately 6 miles to Briermere. The return trip, approximately 7 miles, will take us through some of the back roads of Riverhead, where we may see some Bison!
