If you want to avoid the wind chill this winter you'll come into the woods. This will be a relatively short ride. The ride will start with a narrow fire road and then proceed onto single track that is well worn and relatively wide. You will be able to do this ride even if you have a department store Mtn Bike. You might even be comfortable if you have a hybrid bike. We won't be deep into East Setauket woods but regardless, NO ONE gets dropped in the woods.
If I don't hear that other riders are showing I may cancel the ride. Check back to this posting before leaving for the ride as Life Happens and Things Change.
SBRA insurance requires that Mtn Bike riders MUST sign a Ride Sign In sheet for each Mtn Bike ride. Please text/email me and include your name. I will email you a copy of the Ride Sign in sheet to sign and bring to the ride UNLESS you do me a favor and print it from here: https://www.sbraweb.org/sites/default/files/Ride_Sign-In_Sheet.pdf

We will be going into Strong's Neck and out to Old Field before going over Mt Grey to West Meadow Beach where there are hopefully some portapotties. The speed will probably be in the low to mid B- range due to the hills, if it's windy or we get tired it might drop down to below 14mph! There will be wait ups after the upward bits, no one will be left behind. There are also sections where faster people can go ahead.
Bring mask, water and snacks. There is nowhere to buy food but we will stop at the lighthouse and the beach for a rest.
As COVID continues to be persistent, I think we all could use something a little different.
