Under the Ride Level details, the "Type: Road Bike" refers to the ride will be on paved roads (rather then off road trails). Although a Road Bike is suggested for Road Bike Type rides it is not required. Hybrid and mountain bikes can be used on these rides as well provided you are comfortable with the pace outline in the Posted Ride. This ride calendar is for club rides, club meetings, club event posts and shop rides only.

This is my first post of the year. So the Firehouse ride is a team effort with short pulls and a moderate effort, keeping the group strong together. On the flats we should be in the 21-22MPH range (but is it ever really flat?). First time out, I immagine the A/S slightly north of 20. We'll leave plenty of legs for John's hill ride. Hope to get a good group out for this one.
Join me for this C+ ride, which will average 11.8 - 12.6; no one gets dropped and we will be observing spacing rules, etc. Ride route will be determined by the road conditions; decision to be made the morning of the ride; no cue sheets. We will most likely head west and our break will be determined by our route; there will be a bathroom stop.
The number of riders is limited, so if you want to ride text me (631-523-2129) with your SBRA Member Number and Emergency Contact phone number. I will respond to your text and let you know if you have a spot on the ride. Once the ride is filled, I will change to post to indicate that.
We will be leaving Oakdale RR and head to Bellport and returning to Oakdale for a 30 mile ride. Our food/restroom break will be around mile 17 in Bellport. The ride will be at a (B - pace) with an average speed of around 14.5 mphand road speeds that will reach 16 to 18 mph.
If you have any questions text or call Mike 516 448-8545. Changes or cancelation will be posted by 7:30am day of ride.
Please text if you plan to join. My cell is 631-835-1454.
The usual ride to the Old Field lighthouse. No bathroom. Bring a snack for our break about mile 11. Any changes will be posted by 8 am morning of ride.
Time to head out east to Orient Point State Park with lots of scenic views along the way. On the way back, we will stop at the Orient General Store for a quick bite. Please bring snacks or money for thye food stop along with plenty of hydration and most importantly an upbeat inquisitive attitude ready to explore and discover.
