NOTE:
Under the Ride Level details, the "Type: Road Bike" refers to the ride will be on paved roads (rather then off road trails). Although a Road Bike is suggested for Road Bike Type rides it is not required. Hybrid and mountain bikes can be used on these rides as well provided you are comfortable with the pace outline in the Posted Ride. This ride calendar is for club rides, club meetings, club event posts and shop rides only.
For Other Events in our area and off Long Island check out the "Other Rides & Events calendar" and the "Forums"

Same Kreb Friday concept, but a different route to avoid strong headwinds down Dune Road. We will reverse the route to have a tailwind on Dune Road instead (with some other small modifications too). Here is the route, check it out: https://www.strava.com/routes/3130973463547094234
We will be going down to Nettie's for some coffee and/or snacks, than head back to our cars. Riders who wish to drive over to the restaurant (you pay for your own food and drinks) must tell me before the ride starts so the restaurant can make the appropriate reservations for us. I have been to the Sound Bistro several times with this ride/restaurant kind of combo, and the food and company has always been great. The Sound Bistro has a great outdoor eating area, as well as an indoor eating option, and a bar. To join this ride, text Bill G. at 631-356-3036 with your full name and date of ride. Check the ride calendar the day of the ride for changes, which would be posted by 07:00am. Note: You can just come for the Nettie's ride, the restaurant part is optional.
CHANGE:ride start is now from Calverton, instead of the waterfront - less congestion and easy to get to the Sound Bistro.
Weather was iffy last month, so we are trying for another day!
This is a mulit-level ride and you may pick the ride leader/distance/pace you want to do.
My ride is a C+ ride, which will average 12.5-12.9. We will be riding out to Mattituck, where we will take a break at the Deli on Love Lane. Our return will take us through Jamesport, then up around Riverhead, and then possibly ride past the Buffalo on our way back to the ride start. As the exact route will be determined on the day of the ride, there will not be a cue sheet.
The number of riders is limited, so if you want to ride with me, you must text me (631-523-2129) with your SBRA Member Number and Emergency Contact phone number. I will respond to your text and let you know if you have a spot on the ride. Once the ride is filled, I will change to post to indicate that.
If you wish to join us, some of us are going to the Sound Bistro (formerly the Lobster Roll North) on Sound Avenue for lunch following the ride (you pay for your own food and drink). By the start of the ride we need to know how many people are planning to go to the restaurant, so they can set aside enough seating space.
Check the ride calendar the day of the ride for any changes, which would be posted by 7:15 am.
My only change is a head's up: I've only ridden once in the last 4 weeks so I'll definitely be on the low end of the pace (plus add the wind!) and may not make all 20 miles. If I'm too slow for you, join Jeff's ride :)
I'm not quite sure of route yet but it'll be around 20, maybe a few more. Easy C pace. Join for the ride only or join us for lunch after or do both! Text me with any questions.
WIND @ 17 mph too much for 45 miles (for me). Will try next week
Five more miles this week and hopefully the temps will be cooler.
It's a 45 mile, mid B ride from Southaven Park to West Hampton. There will be the usual gulp and goes and possible quick stop at McD's for those that need a bathroom stop (a brief one). We will take a longer break in Westhampton before returning to the ride start.
This ride will start from the Riverhead Waterfront and go north on some roads we don't normally ride. There will be some backtracking and many turns so please download the route or at least look at it. More of a social ride than a hammerfest thus the A- rating. One very steep but short hill at the end of Roanoke which can be skipped (no judgement zone) if you wish. After the ride we will drive to the Sound Bistro on Sound Avenue for lunch to join other riders from SBRA. The lunch is optional but in previous years we had a great time. Hope to see you there, 9am start.
