Under the Ride Level details, the "Type: Road Bike" refers to the ride will be on paved roads (rather then off road trails). Although a Road Bike is suggested for Road Bike Type rides it is not required. Hybrid and mountain bikes can be used on these rides as well provided you are comfortable with the pace outline in the Posted Ride. This ride calendar is for club rides, club meetings, club event posts and shop rides only.

This will be a strong B/B+ Paceline Ride with a smooth and steady pace. At first we will be heading to East Moriches for a few long loops, then off to Dune Road. You may want to bring a snack for a short rest stop at the breach on the east end of Dune Road. Then we head back to the West Hampton Beach Bakery.
This will be an easy C+ ride around Center Moriches, that will average 11.8 - 12.6, and will be taking our break at Nettie's. There are some very nice water views along the way. No one gets dropped and we will be observing spacing rules, etc. Since the exact route will be determined as we go along, there will not be a cue sheet.
The number of riders is limited, so if you want to ride you must text me (631-523-2129) with your SBRA Member Number and Emergency Contact phone number. I will respond to your text and let you know if you have a spot on the ride. Once the ride is filled, I will change to post to indicate that.
Riders should arrive at least 15 minutes before the ride start, to allow enough time for me to get everyone signed in and to "get yourself" ready.
Starting at George Young Community center - it's just south off route 25, lights and gas station on corner.
Route takes us along Peconic bay blvd to Indain neck - i've never been there before so it's a bit of an exploration. Back via Mattituck ice cream shop.
Mid B- ride. Stops for water breaks and water views.
Questions: 631 331 5642. I always appreciate knowing if anyone other than Ann is coming along! If you download the map you can catch up if you are late arriving.
Note, this is a long ride so plan your day accordingly. This ride is very weather dependent, so it is imperative that you check the ride calendar the day of the ride for changes, which would be posted by 07:30am. To join the ride, text Bill G. at 631-356-3036 with your full name and date of ride. This ride has numerous water views and several historical sites. Bring snacks and water for our stops. There will be a lunch stop at the Orient General Store( at your expense), which has excellent sandwiches at reasonable prices If you want to work your way up to a HIGHER MILEAGE RIDE, this might be a good ride for you. Orient Point State Park has picnic tables and restrooms, and of course views of the Atlantic Ocean. Text if you have any questions. The number of riders will be limited, We can treat ourselves to great ice cream at the end of the ride, at the magic fountain.
