NOTE:
Under the Ride Level details, the "Type: Road Bike" refers to the ride will be on paved roads (rather then off road trails). Although a Road Bike is suggested for Road Bike Type rides it is not required. Hybrid and mountain bikes can be used on these rides as well provided you are comfortable with the pace outline in the Posted Ride. This ride calendar is for club rides, club meetings, club event posts and shop rides only.

Off to Quogue with several water views and some mileage on Dune Road (going East, less traffic).  Restroom stops at miles 10, 23, and 26.  At mile 26 we stop at a pocket park in Westhampton Beach, with a minutes walk to a bakery and 7-11.  Bring snacks and drinks for scenic stops.  To join ths ride, text Bill G. at 631-356-3036 with your full name and date of ride.  Check the ride calendar the day of the ride for changes, which would be posted by 7:30am.

This will be a LOW B- ride, which means we will be coming in with an average between 14 and 14.5. We have be doing this when we were riding a C+/B- so you know you can do it. In order to get this average the road speeds will be between 14.5 and 16.5 mph. Going downhill, or with the wind at your back will be faster. The main objective is to finish the ride without being too concerned about the average. The average will depend mainly on the wind, the hills, and who shows up. We will stay together and there will be one or two break-a-ways for those who want. We wil l take a break at the Marina and a rest stop at Wertheim about mile 10. Pulls would be appreciated.

At the end of the ride you are welcome to stop in and have an empanada cooked by Eduardo and drink some aguapanela.

Today's Mi Tierrita ride will be going to the Beach.  The route is mostly flat with a small incline here and there.  The average pace for the ride will be between 15 to 16.0 mph, depending on the roads and wind direction. The road speed will be between 17.0 and 18.0 mph. The usual break-a-ways will happen for those who desire. We'll stop along the way for a bathroom break around mile 10. Don’t forget to bring a snack. Do you know what AGUAPANELA is? Come and find out.  Pulls are appreciated. Cyclists coming with "E" bikes must stay at the end of the bike line.
