NOTE:
Under the Ride Level details, the "Type: Road Bike" refers to the ride will be on paved roads (rather then off road trails). Although a Road Bike is suggested for Road Bike Type rides it is not required. Hybrid and mountain bikes can be used on these rides as well provided you are comfortable with the pace outline in the Posted Ride. This ride calendar is for club rides, club meetings, club event posts and shop rides only.

After some feedback we are gonna keep ride at 45 miles for Now. Still early in year. We will try the 8am start but if cold I will push back to 9am. This will be the South Route with a Regoup at Mile 15 (Exxon Gas Station) then a brief stop at Netties at mile 30. No need to Text me as this has been a solid turnout of riders.
Today's’ route to Great River will change up a bit towards the end of the ride - if the wind is in our favor; making this route pretty flat except for 2 overpasses. We will go the usual route heading south using the Connetquot Park bike bath. We’ll work our way down to Heckscher Park, do a loop where one can stretch the legs a bit if desired. Pulling is appreciated! I would like to keep the road speed between 15 & 16mph and come in at an average between 14 and 15mph.
Time to dust-off that bike and get ready to ride the Orient Century, Thunderbirds style ! If you are a B/B+ rider or a B+ rider getting ready for the season, come on out and ride. IF I have a good turnout, we'll keep this series going, with us adding miles every week. The starting location will vary throughout the series, so make sure to read the narratives for each ride.
The goal is to keep everyone together and develop our endurance to ride a century with strength at a B+ pace. This will be a paceline ride, so this will be a chance to use your paceline skills: https://youtu.be/I6LITUc8SMgLet's keep it civil: That means no surges, and waitups after the rises to keep everyone together!
The route will take us past Riverhead on Route 24, up to Route 31 and the rise up to Gabreski airport. Then it's a stop in Westhampton Beach. The return takes us along the shore through Remsenberg and Eastport.
RIDE START IS NOW 10:30 - the FOG should be gone by then.
Join me for this morning ride from SAYVILLE to ?? This will be an easy C ride to loosen up the legs, and will average 11.0 - 11.5.
The exact route will be determined at the start. Wherever we go there will be a bathroom stop & a food break. Since nothing is certain until we start, there will not be a cue sheet for this ride.
We may go for a slice of pizza after the ride (personal expense).
Please text me with your name, SBRA Member Number, and Emergency Contact phone number if you plan to ride.
For this Flat ride the Average speed is 11.5-12.5mph depending on riders, wind, tide, position of moon and leaders disposition with a distance of 18-23 miles. Nobody gets left behind and newbies always welcome and well taken care of. Any cancellation will be before 8:30am. No need to text me.
Park in south side lot across from RR station.
Please arrive at least 15 minutes before the ride start, to allow enough time for me to get everyone signed in and to "get yourself" ready.
