NOTE:
Under the Ride Level details, the "Type: Road Bike" refers to the ride will be on paved roads (rather then off road trails). Although a Road Bike is suggested for Road Bike Type rides it is not required. Hybrid and mountain bikes can be used on these rides as well provided you are comfortable with the pace outline in the Posted Ride. This ride calendar is for club rides, club meetings, club event posts and shop rides only.
For Other Events in our area and off Long Island check out the "Other Rides & Events calendar" and the "Forums"

Ride to Copenhagen Bakery in Northport from Smithtown. This will be a slightly hilly ride with 1800 ft of elevation over 40 miles. Rest stop will be at bakery. Ride class reflects effort required for hills rather than avg speed. Wait-ups after hills - no one gets dropped.
No need to be 20 mins early, just be ready to ride at 8:30.
This will be a B+/A- on the higher end of the range (around 19mph). Normal cruising speeds will be between 19-22mph outside of winds and hills. No surging or taking off on us please - I want to keep the group together and will reserve my right to cross people off the list if needed. Feel free to sprint at the end. Water break at the Exxon on Edwards Ave.
This is a scenic ride along the Peconic River, also past farms and vineyards. Rest stops at miles 7 and 29 (bathrooms if open, otherwise porta-potties). Bring water and snacks, we stop at a deli in Cutchogue, which has a restroom if you purchase something. On our way back, there is a mandatory stop at the Magic Fountain. which has great ice cream. To join, text Bill G. at 631-356-3036 with your SBRA, emergency and cell numbers, full name and ride destination. Check the ride calendar the day of the ride for changes, which would be posted by 07:15am.
Sorry, but as of 4:30 pm on Friday the RIDE IS FULL.
Join me for this C ride, which will average 11.5 - 12.0; no one gets dropped and we will be observing spacing rules, etc. Ride route will be determined by the road conditions; decision to be made the morning of the ride; no cue sheets. We will head to Blue Point and loop around Corey Beach. We will probably take our break at the Atlantic Ave. Deli; there will be a bathroom stop.
Please arrive at least 15 minutes before the ride start, to allow enough time for me to get everyone signed in and to "get yourself" ready.
NOTE: I am limiting the number of riders on my rides, so you MUST text me with your name & SBRA Member Number if you want to ride. I will return the text: YES, you have a spot…or…NO, Ride Filled...CELL #: 631-523-2129
Today's’ route to Great River will change up a bit towards the end of the ride - if the wind is in our favor; making this route pretty flat except for 2 overpasses. We will go the usual route heading south using the Connetquot Park bike bath. We’ll work our way down to Heckscher Park, do a loop where one can stretch the legs a bit if desired. Taking turns pulling would be appreciated! I would like to keep the road speed between 15 & 16 mph and come in at an average between 14.5 and 15.0
Please DO NOT PARK in the Meat Farms parking lot. Use the west side of the bank if the east side is full. Thanks!
We’ll be making a rest stop around mile 19 at the deli/bakery. The route back will be determined by the wind direction. If you want to bring stuff for after the ride please do. Weather permitting!
