Interval training on Route 51. It is not a steady pace ride. There will be two stops to regroup. Strava numbers not important. It's not a race. It's a workout!
Mostly flat steady paced ride to Briermere. Watch the weather and look for changes or cancelation before heading out. Bring your rain bike as the weather can change; as well as our intended route. Hope for the best. Intended route posted below.
Weather forecast as of Monday afternoon is for showers in the AM. Be sure to check back tomorrow. I’ll decide by 7:30AM and post decision either way.
Same ride as last week. We’ve been averaging in the low 14’s, so I’m changing the designation.
For this ride, you need to do 14-16 on the flats. On the hills, it’s just you and the hill. Take the hill at your own pace and, week by week, get stronger. Wait-ups after every hill give all of us a chance to recover before the next one. Small break at Old Field Lighthouse, snack and bathroom break at West Meadow. The “plus” is our ride down Trustees Road.
Before ride, my email is [frchtchr@hotmail.com]. Day of ride, my cell is 631-835-1454.
This morning it might be nice to take a ride through Bellport and Patchogue stopping for a break at Mickey D’s around mile 20. Naturally, the road speed will be higher (15 -16.5 mph.) to produce the average. Depending on the wind and the route back we might be +/- a mile.
Please check the ride calendar for any weather, or last minute cancellations which will be posted no later than 7:30am if necessary. My cell phone number is 631-484-3490; call or text anytime if you have questions about this ride...
