NOTE:
Under the Ride Level details, the "Type: Road Bike" refers to the ride will be on paved roads (rather then off road trails). Although a Road Bike is suggested for Road Bike Type rides it is not required. Hybrid and mountain bikes can be used on these rides as well provided you are comfortable with the pace outline in the Posted Ride. This ride calendar is for club rides, club meetings, club event posts and shop rides only.

Based on the forecast precipitation and winds, we'll be trying GR. Note that the start has been delayed until 9. If we find the trail too wet I'll be riding my Mtn Bike on the road unless folks want to accompany me out to Shoreham for a 9:30 Ride Start.
Be sure to check back Wednesday evening after 7 PM for any update ....
Subscribe to this ride posting and get an update within an hour of my changes or check back to this posting before leaving for the ride as Nothing is Permanent ... Life Happens and Things Change!!
No need to arrive 20 minutes early and overheat in the car ... just try to be there in time to be ready to start at the Start Time
Running late? Pull off the road and call my cell list below ..... We'll wait but make you feel bad about it .
4/4 update: with the crazy winds and cold predicted overnight and into the a.m. (again...ugh!!) I am going to cancel. I will repost when it feels like spring..or summer, whichever comes first!
We'll ride to Shoreham for a quick view of the water and then head back. There is one short climb as we leave the north shore...wait ups as needed. Will be keeping this at low end of B- pace. Bring a snack and water as we won't be making a long deli/bagel shop break - only as needed for bathroom.
Please check back here by 8:30am for updates or changes.
Looks like there won't be rain but possible winds; therefore, if the ride is a go, I will knock off some miles. If the winds are too strong, the ride will be cancelled by 7:30 day of ride. The average will still be in the B- range. The rest stop will be at the Beach Bakery.
UPDATE- 4/4/2018 – 10 :15PM. I thought I would let you know early; this way you can sleep in if you want. I agree with Bill & Karen, it’s just going to be too windy, 18-20 mph. with gusts to 29. The ride will be moved to some other day. See you Saturday if Mother Nature loves us!!!
Let's takenice to take a ride through Bellport and Patchogue stopping for a break at Mickey D’s around mile 20. The average pace will be between 14.0 to 15.0 mph depending on the roads, wind direction, holes, snow melt,t, and other conditions. The ride will probably come in twords the lower end a B-. Naturally, the road speed will be higher (15 -16.5 mph.) to produce the average; all things being dictated by the wind direction.
Please check the ride calendar for any weather, or last minute cancellations which will be posted no later than 7:45am if necessary. My cell phone number is 631-484-3490; call or text anytime if you have questions about this ride...
Steady paced ride to Hampton Bays where we do the Red Creek Rollers; on return it's 51 & 111. This is a base building ride, not a hammerfest. The group will stay together. Check back as weather can change plans.
To windy, with gusts that could blow a rider over. Ride is cancelled. A longer route for my bean and bagel ride. For info: contact Bill G. at 631-356-3036. Check the ride calendar the day of the ride for changes, which would be posted by 08:15am .
We will be leaving Bank of America and head to Great River and East Islip for a 21 mile ride. The ride will be at a B- pace with an average speed of around 14.5 to 15mph and road speeds that will reach 16 to 18mph.
Changes or cancelation will be posted by 12:30pm day of ride.
If you have any questions concerning this ride, call Mike at 516 448-8545.
