The purpose of this ride is to build upon the goal of riding a century. Our prior ride in this training series was last Saturday, 76 miles. This ride is 83 miles. At this rate, we will be fully prepared to ride a century by Halloween.Be advised that this is an endurance ride.It is not about speed.Plan on a steady 19 to 21 mph , 170 to 220, watts of power, zone 2 to 3, call it what you want:don’t jack it up.The average speed should end up between 19 and 20 mph. There will be three stops:the 20-, 40-, and 60-mile point. The first two stops will be no more than 5 minutes. The third stop will be at Main Road Biscuit and a bit longer. This ride is the stitching together of familiar routes, all good roads. The weather looks good.I hope to see you.

On our way back there will be another ice cream stop in Mattituck, in case you had a sandwich instead of ice cream in Cutchogue. Rest rooms and porta-potties along the route.
