NOTE:
Under the Ride Level details, the "Type: Road Bike" refers to the ride will be on paved roads (rather then off road trails). Although a Road Bike is suggested for Road Bike Type rides it is not required. Hybrid and mountain bikes can be used on these rides as well provided you are comfortable with the pace outline in the Posted Ride. This ride calendar is for club rides, club meetings, club event posts and shop rides only.

Lets do it again! Maybe the last Marty's ride for 2015, still undecided? I think we'll try a repeat of this past Saturday's Ride. So come on out and ride with your friends, or make some new friends.
Construction in kitchen keeps me home Wednesday, ride switched to Saturday. Park in the King Kullen lot in the rows closest to 7-11 and McDonald's. Wildwood has a shaded picnic area and restrooms. We will make a deli stop just prior to the park. Speed will average 14.5-15mph., depending on temperature, wind and rider ability. For info. contact Bill Gravitz at 631-356-3036. Check the ride calendar for any changes, which would be posted by 06:45am day of ride.
This is number 5 of the SEAGULL CENTURY training rides. You DO NOT have to be doing the century to go on any of these rides. The ride will be about 56 miles. Last week we did a half century, we should all be proud of ourselves; great job; let’s keep up the good work. Today’s route will be similar to ride #3 taking us to Eastport, Remsenburg, Westhampton Beach, and points east using Dune Road. If the wind is in the wrong direction we will take the inland route for the comfort off all; probably returning via Dune road. The average pace for this ride will be between 14.9 & 15.3 mph (you’ve done it before) +/-, depending on the wind and other factors which could change the average. The road speed will be 15-17.5 mph to produce the average. Around mile 28 or so there will be a food/pee stop at Tully’s (if they are open for clam chowder) or the Green Door, or save you appetite for the next stop which is the Beach Bakery. There will be about a 10 mile leg stretch for those who desire.
Be sure you bring water and something with electrolytes in it. I’m still working on the final route which will only change the total mileage a wee bit one way or the other; promise. Supplies after the ride; could be! Cheese and crackers maybe.
Please check the ride calendar for any weather, or last minute cancellations which will be posted no later than 7:00AM if necessary. My cell number is 631.484.3490; call anytime if you have questions about this ride. Next weeks ride will be on Sunday and the START Time will be 8AM
This is the usual extended Route out to Manorville. We will do all the loops before we stop at Mcdonalds for our food break. We stay together and work for the group Pacline on this ride.
Join me for an early morning ride from Ronkonkoma to East Islip. We will take a short break at the Timber Point Golf Course, where we can use the facilities, grab a coffee/beverage/snack, and look out at the Great South Bay. This is a structured C+ ride which will average 12.7 - 13.2 (depending on the wind, etc.), with cue sheets.
PLEASE NOTE: This ride leaves from the NORTH side of the RR Tracks and we are meeting in the parking lot EAST of the train station.
Sorry I am just not up for it, Will be going at slower speed Bring Money for great snacks, speed will be determined by who shows up and the winds, not to exceed C+ average, no one left behind.
Join us as we explore the coves, inlets, and bays, surrounding Shelter Island and Sag Harbor. There are many waterside views and scenic vistas on this fairly hilly and lightly traveled route. We will take the North ferry and ride the West shoreline of the island to the South ferry. On the South fork we will have lunch in Sag Harbor, then ride through the Northwest woods and Three Mile Harbor. Ferry back to Shelter Island and ride the East shoreline along Gardiners Bay including the causeways leading to the Ram islands. Keep in mind there will be ups and downs all day. If you don't like hills this ride is not for you. Total round trip fare for both ferries including your bike is $11.00 cash per person. Joint listing with the NYCC. Optional post ride meal at Crabby Jerry's on the wharf in Greenport.
we will attempt the ride from short beach to long beach lights are recommended...helmets are a must check back before ride......hope the tide charts are accurate fat bike or mountain bike
