NOTE:
Under the Ride Level details, the "Type: Road Bike" refers to the ride will be on paved roads (rather then off road trails). Although a Road Bike is suggested for Road Bike Type rides it is not required. Hybrid and mountain bikes can be used on these rides as well provided you are comfortable with the pace outline in the Posted Ride. This ride calendar is for club rides, club meetings, club event posts and shop rides only.
For Other Events in our area and off Long Island check out the "Other Rides & Events calendar" and the "Forums"

We will be meandering thru Mattituck, New Suffolk and Cutchogue, with some great views of Peconic Bay and Robbins Island. There will be a deli stop in Cutchogue. The deli, which is at mile 15, has a restroom, and an area with shaded tables. Pace will average 14-15mph., depending on wind, temperature and rider ability. For information contact Bill Gravitz at 631-356-3036. Be sure to check ride calendar for any changes, which would be posted by 06:45am. day of ride.
This is the fourth of the SEAGULL CENTURY training rides. You DO NOT have to be doing the century to go on any of these rides. The ride will be about 51 miles and I'm sure you will have no problems with it. We may take turns at the front, this way you can enjoy the wind in your face and be the first to smell the roses, or the road kill.
Today’s route will take us to back to Manorville once again. The average pace for this ride will be between 14.8 & 15.0 mph +/-, depending on the wind and other factors it could be in the lower "B" range. Naturally the road speed will be slightly higher (15-17 faster down hill) to produce the average. Around mile 28 or so we’ll make a pit stop; you can go to Mickey D’s or the deli. Around mile 40 we’ll make one more pee/rest stop. There will be a few long spots along the route where one can stretch the legs if desired, working off any extra calories gained at the rest stop. Make sure you bring water and something with electrolytes in it. Use only approved water bottles, we don’t want any accidents; no original store bought bottles in those cages, please!
Please check the ride calendar for any weather, or last minute cancellations which will be posted no later than 7:00AM if necessary. My cell number is 631.484.3490; call anytime if you have questions about this ride.
Same route just didn't account for the distance between CM & Eastport so you get bonus miles. Park in the southeast corner of the Waldbaum's/Wendy's lot, under the trees, by the RR tracks. We'll have Dune Road to ourselves this early in the morning. Plan is to avg mid to upper 17's. Group stays together and no one is dropped. Go nuts on Dune Road if you want and we'll regroup by the Coast Guard Station. Break at the Deli/cafe on Shinnecock Ave. Return inland. A few rollers close to the end of the ride.
Basically Joanna's ride with a few small differences to change it up a little. Speed will be 16-18.5mph. You do not have to paceline if you don't want to. The break will probably be in McDonald's.
Only 20 miles today as I have to be back by 12:00 in order to get to Holtsville so I can lead a ride for the Long Island Against Trafficking Event. Newbies always welcome. Ride average 11.5-12.6. Any cancellation by 7:30am.
Riding to Orient this morning. Perfect training for the Seagull as the terrain is very similar . Ride is flat to rolling and we'll keep the group together. Our break will be in Orient State park and the snack bar there is usually closed on our arrival so please bring your own snacks. Beautiful ride so come all out . No go rain !
