NOTE NEW START TIME - WE WILL GET OUT EARLIER TO BEAT THE HEAT!
Come out and join me for a nice morning ride from Sayville to Bellport. We'll stop at the Bellport dock to view the Great South Bay. Either bring a snack or you may purchase something at the Bellport Deli.
This is a structured C+ ride which will average 12.5 - 13.0, depending on wind, riders, etc. There will be cue sheets and no one will be dropped.
NOTE: Park on the South Side of the train station.
Join us for a fast paceline ride to Jamesport. Although this is an unstructured ride, no one will be dropped so any strong B+ riders are encouraged to join the ride. We will attempt some different pacelines (rotating and echelon) where appropriate - if you are not familiar with these we will talk you through them. This is a great ride to develop and improve your paceline skills!
Park in King Kullen lot in the area closest to 7-11 and McDonald's. Wildwood has restrooms and a shaded picnic area. We will make a deli stop just before we enter the park. Speed will average between 14-15mph., depending upon temperature, wind and rider ability. For information call Bill Gravitz at 631-356-3036. Check ride calendar by 7:00am, day of ride, for any changes.
*UPDATE – 08/13/15 – 8:00AM….Sorry I have to CANCEL this ride. I have too many things to do this Saturday that I forgot about… See you Sunday. Check out the postings of Bruce Redlien or Bill Gravitz, they are both leading a “B-“ride.*
Park at the southeast corner of the Waldbaum's/Wendy's lot, under the trees, by the RR. Another ride to Briermere with all of the surrounding wildlife. Pit stops as needed on the way. Snack break at Briermere. Changed the last few miles to stay off the crummy parts of Chapman/Railroad. Goal is to avg mid to upper 17's. Group stays together and no one is dropped. Go nuts if you must on 104/105.
Bring your beach gear and tell your sweetheart to meet us after the ride. Back to my house for burgers & dogs (regular & bison). Then to our beach for wave runner & kayaking.
Sayville to Smith's Point Park. Rest Break at the Beach. Bring Snacks or buy them at the 7-11 a couple of miles before the beach (Concession usually is not open)
B- effort. No one gets dropped. Wait-ups where necessary.
This is the longer route to Manorville. This is a paceline ride and the group STAYS together. We will stop at Mcdonalds for a break and grab something to eat before we head back. Pace is the high end of a B and the low end of a B+.
