NOTE:
Under the Ride Level details, the "Type: Road Bike" refers to the ride will be on paved roads (rather then off road trails). Although a Road Bike is suggested for Road Bike Type rides it is not required. Hybrid and mountain bikes can be used on these rides as well provided you are comfortable with the pace outline in the Posted Ride. This ride calendar is for club rides, club meetings, club event posts and shop rides only.
For Other Events in our area and off Long Island check out the "Other Rides & Events calendar" and the "Forums"

We'll ride from Stony Brook to Port Jeff, doing some challenging hills you might not know. Pace will be B- on the flats and whatever you personally can manage on the hills. East Broadway is not in the basic mix -- although, who knows? (depending on the group). A fun hill ride with a stop halfway or so in lower Port Jeff, with a bathroom and snacks to buy.
Cancellations posted by 7:30AM. Questions? email me via this post, or call morning of ride only, please, 631-835-1454.
I haven't done this one for awhile so let's take a ride through Bellport and Patchogue stopping for a break at Mickey D’s around mile 20. The average will be 14.7 to 15.0 mph +/- depending on the roads, wind direction, dew point, and other conditions which could put the ride in the lower part of a "B". Naturally, the road speed will be higher (15 -17 mph.) to produce the average. There will be the usual places for leg stretches for those who wish.
Please check the ride calendar for any weather, or last minute cancellations which will be posted no later than 7:30AM if necessary. My cell phone number is 631-484-3490; call anytime if you have questions about this ride, or need directions to the start.
We're off to Cedar Beach in Mt. Sinai to view the Sound and to have a snack at my yacht club (aka Ralph's Fishing Station). Leader will maintain a 13-15 mph level ground pace. No one will be dropped. Meet adjacent to Dunkin' Donuts.
Since the owner of the jewelry store doesn't want us to us the KK lot, park on the street one block north of the KK at the intersection of Eastport Manor Road and Old Montauk Highway (traffic light) on the road shoulder (double wide) behind the tavern. Honest pace as advertised. Dishonest riders post your own ride. pit stop at the beach. Avg 17.5 or so, paceline at 19-22 depending on conditions.
Ride through the area around East Islip south of Montauk Hwy and Islip along Union Blvd. Depending on wind, tide and temps we may do a loop or two on the bike path in Heckscher Park and/or a loop down to Islip Beach. Cancellation for any reason will be posted no later than 4PM on Tuesday. Newbies always welcome. Pace should come in around 11-12.6MPH. No one left behind. Get off your Butt and get some exercise. Mileage depends on groups ability.
