It's the SBRA Picinic Ride. I am leading a B/B+ ride coming in between 16 and 16.5. I put 8;30 but that may change to 9 after I see when everyone else is leaving so check back before the ride to see what time this ride leaves. You need to get into the park before 8 am to avoid paying the parking fee. Bring a change of clothes for after the ride. There are showers at the park and a place to change if you want to get out of your bike clothes. Then stay for the picnic! OOps you have to sign up for the picnic if you plan on staying!
It’s time for a scenic picnic ride. Really, this is my kind of ride, pie and refreshing liquid afterwards; what more could you want. So, join me for a nice ride before the picnic where we can burn some calories, not many, just enough for that piece of pie. We’ll peddle for an average pace somewhere between 14.7 and 15.0 mph. give ot take a tad depending on the wind. Bring a snack; don’t spoil your picnic appetite. There are showers there if you want to bring a change of clothes; first one back gets the showers first. My cell phone number is 631.484.3490; call anytime if you have questions or need directions to the start. The Ride will be cancelled only if the picnic is.
Come along and ride with me as we ride my "Picnic Route." You will be able to eat anything after the caloric burn from the ride. A sweep will be provided and I will also provide cue sheets. There will be wait ups. I will return with everyone that leaves with me. Bruce Presner CELL: 516-702-5639 EMAIL: [eyeman56@optonline.net]
Arrive before 8 for bagels (and avoid parking fee). Route is mostly flat, with a rest stop at mid point. Showers back at the park for the BBQ/picnic (which you have to have signed up for).
Let's ride from the Picnic out to Mattituck on Peconic Bay Boulevard and then cut up to the West Side of Mattituck inlet. The Park there gives a nice view of the inlet and the sound. Pretty water views and you get to see Peconic Bay and Long Island Sound. Multiple opportunities for rest stops. Bring a snack for when we stop at the Mattituck inlet park. We'll stay as a group, no one gets dropped.
Work up an appetite for our great picnic. Average speed will be between 12-13mph, with slightly higher cruising speeds. This ride will go from the picnic site to Mattituck Inlet, and back, same route as Bruce Redlien's, but a tad slower at a C+pace. For information contact Bill Gravitz at 631-356-3036. Ride will be cancelled if the picnic is cancelled.
We'll ride to Mattituck via scenic Peconic Bay Blvd and New Suffolk Ave., make a rest stop at Mattituck Beach, do a loop around the area and return in time for all the goodies. Leader will maintain a 11 to 12 mph level ground cruising speed. No one will be dropped.
We'll work up an appetite on the scenic roads out east. There will be a snack stop about halfway through the ride. Please email me care of this post if you have any questions before ride day. Questions morning of ride only, please: 631-835-1454
