NOTE:
Under the Ride Level details, the "Type: Road Bike" refers to the ride will be on paved roads (rather then off road trails). Although a Road Bike is suggested for Road Bike Type rides it is not required. Hybrid and mountain bikes can be used on these rides as well provided you are comfortable with the pace outline in the Posted Ride. This ride calendar is for club rides, club meetings, club event posts and shop rides only.

It’s off to Manorville. The average pace for the ride will be between 14.7 to 15.0 mph +/ depending on the roads, wind direction and other conditions which could put the ride in the lower part of a "B"; you know how I ride. Naturally, the road speed will be higher (15 -17 mph.) to produce the average. A rest/ food stop at McDonald’s or the bagel shop is on the schedule around mile 12. There are a few places along the route where a paceline can be started for those who wish.
Please check the ride calendar for any weather, or last minute cancellations which will be posted no later than 7:30AM, if necessary. My cell number is 631.484.3490; call anytime if you have questions about the ride or need directions to the start.
Come out and join me for a ride around Riverhead and out to Jamesport, where we will make a bathroom/snack break at Briermere. This will be a structured C+ ride, which will average 12.3 - 12.7, with cue sheets, and no one will be dropped.
This ride is mostly flat but has rolling hills on Soundview Avenue and a few steeper hills in the Nassau Point area of Cutchogue. The route is on mostly scenic secondary roads that are lightly traveled. Please bring pocket food for our break at Nassau point. After the ride we can pick up food at a Southold deli and eat a late lunch at Founders Landing.
The "Plus" will be a 3 mile flat loop to the beach. No optional hilly loop at this time as the basic Slow Hills has enough hills for now. Hills 101. We'll do B- on the flats and whatever we individually can on the hills. No need to keep up on hills; wait-ups as necessary. Stop halfway at the lighthouse in Old Field; bring a snack -- no bathroom there. There may be a bathroom at the beach. Cancellation or change if needed by 8AM. Cell day of ride only, please:631-835-1454
Meet at East parking lot next to Flo's in Bluepoint. No one left behind. Come meet JayBone and Nancy son Tyler. All welcome to join us at Flo's or Cavanaughs ( If cold and windy)for an amazing burger. The pace will be between 13 - 14 pace. Wheels hit the ground at 5:30 sharp. Hopefully the Big Kuhuna will post a C ride for the slower pace riders. Any cancellations will be posted by 4:00PM. Steve 631/379-7562
