We're off to Shoreham with a snack/rest stop at the Bagel Cafe (aka the Bagel Lady). Leader will maintain 13-14mph level ground pace. No one will be dropped.
Join me for a scenic ride through the back roads of Manorville and Calverton. We will stop at the Bean & Bagel Cafe and take a snack/bathroom break, and then head back to Manorville through the old Grumman property. This will be a structured C+ ride that will average between 12.0 and 12.5, with cue sheets, and no one will be dropped. Cell phone (631) 523-2129. PARK IN THE KING KULLEN SHOPPING CENTER, ALONG THE DRIVEWAY BEHIND THE 7-11 OR IN THE FIRST ROW ADJACENT TO THE DRIVEWAY, JUST DOWN FROM McDONALD'S.
Park behind Wendy's along Old Neck Road. We'll ride a lot of side streets of Center and East Moriches and have our break at the Trackside Café in Remsenburg around mile 16. Cell phone 516-330-1542.
How about a ride to Ridge today? The average pace for the ride will be between 14.5 and 15mph. Depending on wind conditions, and other factors such as humidity and squirrels. Naturally the road speed will be slightly higher to produce the average. Around mile 18 or so we’ll make a pit stop; you can go to Mickey D’s or the deli. Then there will be few long spots where one can stretch the legs if desired, working off any extra calories collected at the rest stop.
My cell number is 631.484.3490; call anytime if you have questions about this ride or need directions to the start. Please check the ride calendar for any weather, or last minute cancellations which will be posted no later than 8:00AM if necessary.
The usual ride down the bridle path. Bathrooms are open in the park. Bring a snack i think the deli closes at 5. Had to change the ride location. The park charges for parking until 6pm not 4:30 like i thought. This is the same school where we usually start from.
