NOTE:
Under the Ride Level details, the "Type: Road Bike" refers to the ride will be on paved roads (rather then off road trails). Although a Road Bike is suggested for Road Bike Type rides it is not required. Hybrid and mountain bikes can be used on these rides as well provided you are comfortable with the pace outline in the Posted Ride. This ride calendar is for club rides, club meetings, club event posts and shop rides only.
For Other Events in our area and off Long Island check out the "Other Rides & Events calendar" and the "Forums"

This ride will be just 31 miles. I have taken Wildwood out of this ride due to allergies from too much wind driven pollen. Park in King Kullen lot closest to 7-11 and McDonald's. There will be stops at Briermere's for snacks and restrooms, and a second stop at Wildwood State Park for rest rooms and a deli stop. If the American Bison are out we will make a quick stop for a photo-op. The route does not include Boyscout Hill on Sound Avenue. The pace will be between 13-14mph, depending on wind, temperature and rider ability. This is a long ride (69 kilometers) but well worth the effort. If you trained for the centuries, put that training to use. For information call Bill Gravitz at 631-356-3036. Any changes will be posted by 7:45 day of ride. Note: I am still looking for a few riders to share a pie.
It’s off to Manorville. The average pace for the ride will be between 14.5 to 15.0 mph; perhaps a tad higher or lower depending on the roads, wind direction and other conditions. Naturally, the road speed will be higher (15 -17 mph.) to produce the average. A rest/ food stop at McDonald’s or the bagel shop is on the schedule around mile 12. There will be some leg stretches along the way for those who feel the need.
Please check the ride calendar for any weather, or last minute cancellations which will be posted no later than 8:00AM if necessary. My cell number is 631.484.3490; call anytime if you have questions about the ride or need directions to the start.
