NOTE:
Under the Ride Level details, the "Type: Road Bike" refers to the ride will be on paved roads (rather then off road trails). Although a Road Bike is suggested for Road Bike Type rides it is not required. Hybrid and mountain bikes can be used on these rides as well provided you are comfortable with the pace outline in the Posted Ride. This ride calendar is for club rides, club meetings, club event posts and shop rides only.

How about going to Yaphank today? The average pace for the ride will be between 14.5 and 15.0 mph depending on the wind direction and other factors. The road speed on this ride will be between 14.5 and 17 mph. There are a few places along the route where one can stretch the legs if needed. Around mile 19 there will be a bathroom/deli stop. Please check the ride calendar for any weather, or last minute cancellations which will be posted no later than 8:00AM if necessary. Rest stop Westhampton Bakery bring money, will be slow up CR 111, ride average will be C+ depending on wind and who shows up, not faster, no one left behind.

5/06 - Wednesday (Late Afternoon Today) - 5:00 PM Start out of Friendly's in Smithtown - Approx 40 Miles - Flat and Fast...Great Training Work-Out - High Intensity, Long Intervals with Wait-Ups as Needed...
Due to a prior commitment I've moved this week's ride to Wednesday. Ride through the area around East Islip south of Montauk Hwy and Islip along Union Blvd. Depending on wind and temps we may do a loop on the bike path in Heckscher Park and/or a loop down to Islip Beach. Mileage is approximate, be prepared for up to 20 miles. Cancellation for any reason will be posted no later than 3:30PM.
Scenic backroads ride thru the Smithtown-Stonybrook area: historic places, great views, great sunsets, great folks. We are a diverse group out for an enjoyable ride and fun nite.
