SBRA Rides and Events Calendar by Day

NOTE:
Under the Ride Level details, the "Type: Road Bike" refers to the ride will be on paved roads (rather then off road trails). Although a Road Bike is suggested for Road Bike Type rides it is not required. Hybrid and mountain bikes can be used on these rides as well provided you are comfortable with the pace outline in the Posted Ride. This ride calendar is for club rides, club meetings, club event posts and shop rides only.

BBB logoThe SBRA Swiezy / Pope Montauk Railroad Century continues.
Join SBRA for Long Island's premier Century ride.

Century (100 mile) ride starts at the Babylon train station. 
Metric Century (62 mile) ride starts at Mastic train station.

Riders receive snacks and (1) supported waterstop at the Windmill (in Water Mill).
SAG service will be available.
You will purchase your own ticket for your ride back from Montauk on the LIRR.
Bicycles are individually padded by our experienced club members and returned to train stations by moving van.

To participate you MUST BE A CURRENT SBRA Member by APRIL 30, 2024.

Registration fee is $25 and must be purchased by May 25th.
NOTE: You can change your mind at any time should you decide to do a Century or Metric Century.
Just make sure you go to the correct ride start location. The registration fee is the same for both rides.

I am posting this ride for the Metric century. Please read carefully..We will be leaving at 9:00 am so please arrive at least a half hour early so you can check in at the check in point. If you are taking the train back this is where you need to come back to. Your bikes will be delivered here. Depending on the traffic you may arrive before the bikes so please wait. You will need to buy your ticket on the train so please have money or credit card.  At the end of the ride there are plently of places to eat and relax and  You still need to get from town to the train station which is about a mile out of town. You can bring a bag with your clothes if you want to change when you get to Montauk so please make sure your bag can close and has your identification on the outside of the bag. Back pack is ideal for this. You will give your bag to Janet Mazzola who will be at the Mastic Train station and will take your bags out to Montauk. When giving your bikes to be loaded on the truck please remove anything that can easily break such as Garmins, mirrors or lights as SBRA is not repsonsible for any damage to those types of items even though the bikes are loaded with care! 

Last but not least for those of you that are taking the train back, you can try to take your bike on the train .. There is a train at 3:16 and 5:19 that you can get on if you don't want to wait for the later train and have your bikes come back on the truck.

This will be an easy C ride around Center Moriches, that will average 11.5 - 12 and will be taking our break at Nettie's. There are some very nice water views along the way. No one gets dropped and we will be observing spacing rules, etc. Since the exact route will be determined as we go along, there will not be a cue sheet.

The number of riders is limited, so if you want to ride, text me (631-523-2129) with your SBRA Member Number and Emergency Contact phone number. I will respond to your text and let you know if you have a spot on the ride. Once the ride is filled, I will change to post to indicate that.

MEETING LOCATION: straight back from Wendy's and Dunkin Donuts, on the EAST SIDE of the shopping center.   

Riders should arrive at least 15 minutes before the ride start, to allow enough time for me to get everyone signed in and to "get yourself" ready
