Cruising at 17-19mph. This is a flat ride with few lights and several sections stretching for miles with no stop signs. The average speed could be slightly higher than the normal B average especially if there is a tailwind.
I will post any changes by 6:30am. Please check before coming to ride. I sometimes have to cancel even though the weather is fine.
Meet at the southwest corner of the train station lot. We will meander through Oakdale, south of Montauk Hwy before heading east through West Sayville and Sayville. On the return we will do a loop around the Bohemia area south of Sunrise Hwy. Bring snacks, there is no food stop on this ride but we will have a short rest stop around mile 10. Cancellation for any reason will be posted no later than 8:30AM Saturday.
It’s off to Manorville for a change. The average pace for the ride will be between 14.8 to 15.0 mph. perhaps a tad higher depending on the wind direction and other conditions. Naturally, the road speed will be higher (15 -17 mph.) to produce the average. A rest/ food stop at Mc Donald’s or the bagel shop is on the schedule. There will be some leg stretches along the way for those who feel the need.
