How about taking a ride to Great River today? We will go the usual route through Connetquot Park and then do a loop in Heckscher Park where one can stretch the legs a bit. The route is mostly flat with 2 little hills; maybe 3. The average pace for this ride will be between 14.8. & 15.0 mph, depending on the wind and other factors we could be a tad higher. The road speed will be 15-17 mph to produce the average. We will be making a deli/rest stop somewhere between miles 18 and 20.Additional parking far West side of bank and rear of Guinta's. DO NOT park in the shopping center lot.
My cell number is 631.484.3490; call anytime if you have questions about this ride or need directions to the start. Please check the ride calendar for any weather, or last minute cancellations which will be posted no later than 7:30AM if necessary.

This is a ride for the newer club members or non members who are thinking of joining the club have not had much experience riding in a group. We will go over riding in a group, rules of riding in the group, what you need to be prepared to come on a ride and other tools to make your riding experience with a group successful. If you have interest or any questions please email me or call me at 631-656-0925/izziemoon@optonline.net.
We will meet in the Sayville RR station parking lot on the South side of the tracks and try to arrive at least 20 minutes before the ride.
We will have 2 ride leaders and we will ride at the level of the people that show up. The distance will also be tailored to the group. Longer for the more experienced rider and shorter for the newer riders.
