Please Note Corrected Pace. I do hope that off the hills pace will be solid B, but the average will drop with Sunset Road, Sagamore Hill and whatever surprise hill I throw in(maybe Mill Hill?)
Rolling Hills including Sunset Rd in Oyster Bay Cove as well as Sagamore Hill road. Searching for the Wild turkey of Sagamore. Toughest hills on this ride are Sunset Rd and Sagamore Hill Rd.
Deli stop in Oyster Bay.
NO go in Rain
Meet on the east end of the parking lot, south of the Wendy's. Food/rest stop in Westhampton at the Beach Bakery. Pace will be about 14.5 (cruising between 15-16). Looking for a nice ride, not pushing. Cancellation for any reason will be posted no later then 7AM Sunday. Please arrive 20 minutes before ride start time so we are ready to roll at 8:30.
Park on the southeast corner of the shopping center, closest to the train tracks. Route still TBD. I am working on a route east to Hampton Bays but Tully's won't be open in the morning and I believe the Green Door is closed for the season. We may end up doing a repeat of last week's route to Briermere. Regardless of which route is chosen there will be at least one food/rest stop but you may want to bring your own snacks. Pace should be near the high end of the B range, close to 16.0. Cancellation for any reason will be posted no later than 7AM Sunday.
Ride Moved to Sunday. The Three Point ride is to the New Suffolk point, Nassau Point and Horton Point. We will ride at a pace comfortable to the group through the scenic north fork farmlands. There are some hills but this is not a very hilly ride. Plenty of water breaks and one deli stop. Wait ups at turns. Many Scenic Water Views. Bruce Redlien Cell Phone for the day of the ride. 631-413-2481.
Cancellation if necessary posted by 7:00 AM on Sunday.
Directions to Mattituck RR Station. Take RT25 East to Love Lane in Mattituck (In Town where RT 25 bends) Make Left onto Love Lane. The RR station is just north of Rt 25.
How about taking a ride to Great River today? We will go the usual route through Connetquot Park and then do a loop in Heckscher Park where one can stretch the legs a bit. The route is mostly flat with 2 little hills; maybe 3. The average pace for this ride will be between 14.8. & 15.0 mph, depending on the wind and other factors we could be a tad higher. The road speed will be 15-17 mph to produce the average. We will be making a deli/rest stop somewhere between miles 18 and 20. After the rode maybe Guinta's will have steak on sale.
My cell number is 631.484.3490; call anytime if you have questions about this ride or need directions to the start. Please check the ride calendar for any weather, or last minute cancellations which will be posted no later than 7:30AM if necessary.
Off to the beach we go. This is nice flat ride out to Smith Points where we will stop at the beach for a break. The pace is a mid B/B+ so around the mid 16 range. Please park at the West end of the parking lot across from Flo's but not West of the YMCA. Bring a light snack for the beach break.
Join me for a short, early ride to get some exercise and still allow you to have most of the day for other activities. We will loop around from Ronkonkoma to Connetquot, and then return through Ronkonkoma, where we will make a brief bathroom stop. This is a structured C+ ride which will average 12.2 - 12.6, with cue sheets and no one will be dropped.
PLEASE NOTE: This ride leaves from the NORTH side of the RR Tracks and we are meeting in the parking lot EAST of the train station.
Sleep in a bit, have breakfast and then come work it off! We'll ride to West Hampton Beach via Eastport and Remsenburg, then to Dune Road and back via Red Creek and Flanders. There are some rolling hills to get warmed up along Mill Road out to Manorville. We will change the route accordingly if the winds are up and/or there is flooding on Dune Road. Bring $ for a snack along the way. Pace will be lower to middle B, finishing around 15 - 15.5, cruising speed will be higher.
Check back by 10am for any changes or cancellations.
