NOTE:
Under the Ride Level details, the "Type: Road Bike" refers to the ride will be on paved roads (rather then off road trails). Although a Road Bike is suggested for Road Bike Type rides it is not required. Hybrid and mountain bikes can be used on these rides as well provided you are comfortable with the pace outline in the Posted Ride. This ride calendar is for club rides, club meetings, club event posts and shop rides only.

We will head to riverhead, down to west hampton, out to dune road, back up flanders road,and then back to king kullen. I will try for the lower to middle B pace. No one dropped.
From SE Corner of Commack Rd and Vanderbilt Parkway.Park between McDonalds and Meson Ole/Bagel Shop Rolling hills through Smithtown, Nissequogue, Head of the Harbor, Stony Brook, Setauket, Old Field into Port Jeff. Once out of Port Jefferson return ride is mostly flat through SUNY Stony Brook, St James, Smithtown, Hauppauge, Suffolk CC Brentwood and back up Crooked Hill Rd to ride start. No go in rain
Join me for a B+ ride. We will do the 50 mile version of Marty's ride. I want to try keep a pace line with the cursing speed about 20 MPH and to try to keep the group together. Those who want to go off the front are welcome. ***NO GO IN RAIN***
Meet on the east end of the parking lot, south of the Wendy's. Food/rest stop at McD's in Manorville around mile 16. Pace will be on the higher end of B- ( 14.0 - 14.9 ). Cancellation for any reason will be posted no later then 7AM.
Park in the south end of the lot, closest to Suffolk County National Bank. We will do back roads and break at the Trackside Café in Speonk. Optional hilly area following the break on Old Country Road. Cell phone 516-330-1542. Pace will be LOW B- (13-13.5)
Leave the Manorville King Kullen for another spin out to Briermere. This will be a medium-paced paceline ride, where we'll keep the group together. We'll have a short stop at Briermere.
How about taking a ride to Great River today? We'll go the usual route through Connetquot Park and then do a loop in Heckscher Park where one can stretch the legs a bit; this is not a pace line. The route is mostly flat with 3 little hills. This ride will come in with an average between 14.8 & 15.0 mph; depending on the wind it could come in a tad higher. The road speed on this ride will be between 15 and 17mph. However, we will slow down for humidity and squirrels. We'll be making a deli/bakery stop around mile 20.
