NOTE:
Under the Ride Level details, the "Type: Road Bike" refers to the ride will be on paved roads (rather then off road trails). Although a Road Bike is suggested for Road Bike Type rides it is not required. Hybrid and mountain bikes can be used on these rides as well provided you are comfortable with the pace outline in the Posted Ride. This ride calendar is for club rides, club meetings, club event posts and shop rides only.

Skirt the north shore hills without actually taking them. After a rolling beginning and a speed of 16 or so, we will get on Eastbound 347 and ride between 18-20 out to Rocky point road. We will return with a break at the Miller Place Mc'D's.
Let’s take a ride to the beach. You can call this a high end “B-” ride if we don’t over 15. For those who would rather do a “B” ride let’s call it a middle B. What I plan on doing is my usual ride with an average between 14.8 & 15.0 mph; depending on the wind it could come in a tad higher. The road speed on this ride will be between 15 and 17 mph. Leg stretches will be available in a few spots. This is not a pace line. Bring a snack or we can stop at 7-11 or the deli before peddling to the beach.
Please check the ride calendar for any weather, or last minute cancellations which will be posted no later than 7:30AM if necessary. My cell number is 631.484.3490; call anytime if you have questions about this ride or need directions to the start.
Please join me for a ride from Hidden Pond Park in Hauppauge (where The Rinx are located), through Ronkonkoma, to our break at the Holtsville Ecology Center. Bring snacks and something to drink. Our return will go through Holbrook and Ronkonkoma. This will be a C+ ride, with an average of 12.3 - 12.7, and there will be cue sheets.
When you enter the park, we will be meeting in the first parking lot on the right. There may not be any bathroom facilities open, so make a stop before you get to the ride.
Meet at the soutwest corner of the train station parking lot. We will do a loop through the Oakdale area south of Montauk Hwy before heading east to Sayville and another loop south of Montauk Hwy. From there we will head back to Oakdale with a short detour around the Bohemia area south of Sunrise Hwy. Due to the number of turns on this ride the pace should end up on the low end of the B- range. Cancellation for any reason will be posted no later than 3:30PM.
Plan on the high end of Bt if the group chooses it. Pace line riding will be paramount. The phone number is my home, feel free to call if necessary but only in the morning of the ride.
