NOTE:
Under the Ride Level details, the "Type: Road Bike" refers to the ride will be on paved roads (rather then off road trails). Although a Road Bike is suggested for Road Bike Type rides it is not required. Hybrid and mountain bikes can be used on these rides as well provided you are comfortable with the pace outline in the Posted Ride. This ride calendar is for club rides, club meetings, club event posts and shop rides only.

Want to improve your hill ability? This ride is for you. We do B- on the flats (14-17 cruising speed) and whatever we can on the hills. Wait ups after hills whenever necessary.
Break at Old Field lighthouse (no bathroom) followed by 3 mile loop flat or hilly (your choice) before we head back to reality and the parking lot.
Ride average will be around 14.

Please join me for my first Lighthouse Run of 2014. Sorry no cue sheets. Still recovering and just coming back. We will will ride at a B pace and maybe a B+ pace (hopefully). Ride is 25 miles may add a few more up to the group. *****NO GO IN RAIN*****
Sunset continues to occur at 8:28pm even through we're past the summer solstice. We begin to lose light next week. As such, we should be able to complete 34 miles and have time at West Meadow Beach for all 3 choices: Ride to end the end, bathroom, artesian well.
This is a hilly and structured ride through Stony Brook, Setauket, Poquott and Old Field.
Narrow roads require single file riding along most of the route. The ride allows a few locations to break-away from the group, as instructed by the ride leader, otherwise the group will stay together.
Highly recommended: bright colored clothing and bicycle lighting, front and back.
Come join us for a stroll around the neighborhoods of W. Islip, Bay Shore and down to the beach. NO ONE LEFT BEHIND. Extra care taken for Newbies. Mileage depends on daylight, back before dark. Any cancellation by 4PM. Average pace is 11-12.5MPH. Janet, Carol - we miss you! And you also Irene!
Ride through East Islip, Islip and Bay Shore as far west as Brentwood Road. If time permits we may stop for a short break at Islip Beach on the way back. Cancellation for any reason will be posted no later than 3:30PM.
Easy recovery ride...avg 14.5.wind direction determines dune road route ,opportunity for sprints/ intervals on dune road as you like ....
