Rolling out at 7am sharp.
I tend to be long winded so click "read more" on the bottom for the entire post. – I have made some improvements to the route from last Sunday; new road with less holes. Other than that the route will be the same. We’ll go the through Connetquot Park, and then down to Heckscher Park where one can stretch the legs a bit by doing one loop. This is not a pace line. Around mile 14 there will be a rest stop and a bathroom break. This route is mostly flat with shade and 4 little hills. The average pace for this ride will be between 14.5. & 15.0 mph; naturally the road speed will be slightly higher to produce the average. However, we will slow down for humidity and squirrels.
We’ll be making a food/rest stop near the end of the ride around mile 30. While at this stop you can have ice-cream, fat free yogurt, a sandwich or coffee, before going just 2 more miles back to the start. Think of it this way; desert or lunch with your friends before the bar-bee.....
Please check the ride calendar for any weather, or last minute cancellations which will be posted no later than 7:30AM if necessary. My cell number is 631.484.3490; call anytime if you have any questions about this ride or need directions to the start.
SORRY, I HAVE TO CANCEL THE RIDE.
Please join me for a ride from Hidden Pond Park in Hauppauge (where The Rinx are located), through Ronkonkoma, to our break at the Holtsville Ecology Center. Bring snacks and something to drink. Our return will go through Holbrook and Ronkonkoma. This will be a C+ ride, with an average of 12.3 - 12.7, and there will be cue sheets.
When you enter the park, we will be meeting in the first parking lot on the right. There may not be any bathroom facilities open, so make a stop before you get to the ride.
Meet on the east end of the parking lot, south of the Wendy's. Route TBD, we will either ride to Manorville with a food/rest stop at McD's or ride to Westhampton with a food/rest stop at the Beach Bakery, mileage should work out the same either way. Pace will be on the higher end of B- ( 14.0 - 14.9 ). Cancellation for any reason will be posted no later then 7AM Sunday.
