Carousel rides are $2, and the horses on the outside go faster.

Any ride updates will be posted by 9pm the night before the ride.
Because of all the rain in the past few days I am changing this ride so we can get in a few miles. We are now starting from the Sunshine Mall (NOT SAYVILLE) and going to Manorville. The usual 40 mile route stopping at McDonalds for a break and heading back. Start time is still early so anyone that has plans can make it back in time.
We'll head out to Shoreham with a stop at the Bagel shop. First 15 moderately hilly, through port Jeff, Miller Place, Rocky Point. heading back we'll take Whiskey Rd. west to Canal. Est. avg 14.5- 15 mph. Everyone stays together, no one gets dropped.
I tend to be long winded so click "read more" on the bottom for the entire post. - This is my usual Sunday route with a few changes. We’ll go the through Connetquot Park, and then down to Heckscher Park where one can stretch the legs a bit by doing one loop. Around mile 14 there will be a rest stop and a bathroom break. This route is mostly flat with shade and 3 little hills. The average pace for this ride will be between 14.5. & 15.0 mph; Naturally the road speed will be slightly higher to produce the average. However we will slow down for humidity and squirrels
We’ll be making a food/rest stop near the end of the ride around mile 31. While at this stop you can have ice-cream, fat free yogurt, a sandwich or coffee, before going just 2 more miles back to the start. Think of it this way; desert with your friends before the bar-bee.....
Please check the ride calendar for any weather, or last minute cancellations which will be posted no later than 7:30AM if necessary. My cell number is 631.484.3490; call anytime if you have any questions about this ride or need directions to the start.
Meet on the east end of the parking lot, south of the Wendy's. Food/rest stop at McD's in Manorville around mile 16. Pace will be on the higher end of B- ( 14.0 - 14.9 ). Cancellation for any reason will be posted no later then 7AM Sunday.
Since it looks like there will most likely be rain on Friday (July 4th), I am posting the same ride for Sunday.
So, join me for an early ride to beat the heat from Ronkonkoma to East Islip. We will take a short break at the Timber Point Golf Course, where we can use the facilities, grab a coffee/beverage/snack, and look out at the Great South Bay. This is a structured C+ ride which will average 12.2 - 12.7, with cue sheets and no one will be dropped.
PLEASE NOTE: This ride leaves from the NORTH side of the RR Tracks and we are meeting in the parking lot EAST of the train station.
Park in the south lot closest to Montauk Highway. Depending on temperature, humidity, wind we will try for no faster than low B- (13.3). This ride does have some hilly spots which are done at your own pace with wait ups (sometimes for ME!). Cell phone 516-330-1542. Always check the ride calendar before leaving for the ride to see if any changes have been made.
