NOTE:
Under the Ride Level details, the "Type: Road Bike" refers to the ride will be on paved roads (rather then off road trails). Although a Road Bike is suggested for Road Bike Type rides it is not required. Hybrid and mountain bikes can be used on these rides as well provided you are comfortable with the pace outline in the Posted Ride. This ride calendar is for club rides, club meetings, club event posts and shop rides only.
For Other Events in our area and off Long Island check out the "Other Rides & Events calendar" and the "Forums"

Leave the Manorville King Kullen to ride with John Shea's Early Bird group. Expect an 18+ average. Deli stop near mid-point. Most likely the traditional North Route straight out to Mattituck.
Due to time constraints I have to change the ride location for this ride. We will be doing the Sunshine to Manorville ride today instead of the Green door. I will save that for a weekend that is not a Holiday! So we will go out to Manorville and back stopping at our favorite watering hole Mc Donalds!
The Green Door is open! This will be a nice scenic ride to the Green Door where we will stop for a break and get a bite to eat. Average speed will be 15.6-16 mph depending on a head wind or tail wind. If the Green Door is packed we will find somewhere else to eat along the way. Check for any changes the night before or morning of the ride.
It has come to my attention that the Park will be charging the parking fee. So we will meet around the corner on Canine drive..(just north of the park entrance) and leave from there.
Spread the word as I know not everyone reads the ride details...
Come ride with Bruce as we head to Bellport Docks for lunch. The last time we rode this route it was VERY cold.
We will have a sweep and wait ups will be done so no one gets dropped or lost.
There will be a "Hill de Jeur" on the way home.
Bring $$$ for snacks/lunch.
The North Fork will be lovely. We'll take a relaxed tour out to Greenport before all the tourists are up. Pace will be an easy B depending on the wind. MY Cell 646-643-6856
If wind and tide cooperate will try a different route for a 25 miler. Bring a snack for a break halfway through the ride (may only be a bathroom break with no availability for food purchase). NO ONE LEFT BEHIND. Any cancellation by 8:30AM.
How about taking a ride to Great River today? We will go the usual route through Connetquot Park and then do a loop in Heckscher Park where one can stretch the legs a bit. The route is mostly flat with 2 little hills. The average pace for this ride will be between 14.5. & 15.0 mph. The road speed will be slightly higher to produce the average. We will be making a food/rest stop somewhere between miles 15 and 20.
Always check the ride calendar for any weather, or last minute cancellations which will be posted no later than 8:00AM if necessary. My cell number is 631.484.3490; call anytime if you have questions or need directions to the start.
Join us as we explore the coves, inlets and bays surrounding Shelter Island and Sag Harbor. There are constant waterside views and scenic vistas on this fairly hilly and lightly traveled route. We will take the North Ferry and ride the West perimeter of the Island to the South Ferry. On the South Fork we will have lunch in Sag Harbor, then ride through the Northwest woods and Three Mile Harbor. Ferry back to Shelter Island and ride the East perimeter along Gardiners Bay including the causeways leading to the Ram Islands. Keep in mind there will be ups and downs all day. Total round trip fare for both ferries including your bike is $11.00 per person. Cell # 212 466 9330.
This ride will test one of the new routes for this year's Guide Dog Ride. Since this route is designed for beginners, or those who have not been riding very much, this will be a C- ride, with an overall average of around 10.5 - 11.0, and there will be cue sheets. So, please join me if you haven't been out much, or just want to get a little exercise before going to a Memorial Day BBQ.
We will leave from Hidden Pond Park in Hauppauge (where The Rinx are located), and ride through Ronkonkoma. We will take a brief break half way through the ride, but you should bring snacks and something to drink.
When you enter the park, follow the road to the first parking lot on the left. There may not be any bathroom facilities open, so make a stop before you get to the ride.
Canceled due to pollen. Meet Manovlille Kig Kullen, LIE exit 70 1/2 mile south. Easy pace, no one left behind. Bring money for rest stop. Please get there early
