NOTE:
Under the Ride Level details, the "Type: Road Bike" refers to the ride will be on paved roads (rather then off road trails). Although a Road Bike is suggested for Road Bike Type rides it is not required. Hybrid and mountain bikes can be used on these rides as well provided you are comfortable with the pace outline in the Posted Ride. This ride calendar is for club rides, club meetings, club event posts and shop rides only.

LIE exit 70, go South 1/2 mile to KK lot. Park in area of lot facing McDonalds. We will go thru Eastport, Remsenburg, Westhampton Beach to Dune road and Cupsogue Park. Bring a snack for Cupsogue since the faciities are not yet open. We will stop at the Beach Bakery in WHB on the way back. Bathrooms are available going and coming thru WHB. We are doing B- on the flats and whatever we can on the hills. Expect to come in at 13-14 mph average.

This ride has no bathroom stop but we do take a snack break at the Old Field lighthouse. Weather cancellation will be posted by 9AM.

SCHOOL VOTING THIS TUES SO WE WILL DEPART FROM THE OAKDALE RR STATION.
The usual Tues PM ride heading toward Corey Beach. Back before dark, NO ONE LEFT BEHIND. Any cancellation by 4:30PM. Park on South side of RR station western end.
This is a hilly and structured ride through Stony Brook, Old Field, Setauket and Poquott.
The ride is 26 miles unless time permits us to venture into Crane's Neck for the additional 3 miles.
With sunset at 8:07pm bright colored clothing and bicycle lighting, front and back, are highly recommended.
Narrow roads require single file riding along most of the route. The ride allows a few locations to break-away from the group, as instructed by the ride leader, otherwise the group will stay together.
Not sure if this is going to go as they are predicting rain most of next week but lets give it a try. Meet at Great River LIRR south side. Milage is an estimate depending on weather etc
RIDE UPDATE - SUNDAY 9:00PM - START TIME HAS BEEN CHANGED TO 6:00PM FOR THIS WEEK.
Due to the school budget voting today parking may be limited at JFK elementary so the ride start is being moved to Oakdale for this week. Meet at the southwest corner of the train station parking lot. We will ride east through Oakdale, Sayville, Bayport and Blue Point with a short rest stop at Corey Beach. Bring snacks, there is no food stop on this ride. Cancellation for any reason will be posted no later than 3:30PM Tuesday. If cancelled, the ride may be rescheduled for later in the week.
