NOTE:
Under the Ride Level details, the "Type: Road Bike" refers to the ride will be on paved roads (rather then off road trails). Although a Road Bike is suggested for Road Bike Type rides it is not required. Hybrid and mountain bikes can be used on these rides as well provided you are comfortable with the pace outline in the Posted Ride. This ride calendar is for club rides, club meetings, club event posts and shop rides only.

This week we're doing a change of venue. We are meeting at Sunshine Mall for a pretty flat 70. Weather patterns look OK so far. We'll get to experience the wonder that is Dune Road, where the wind is in your face in both directions. We will probably do some paceline training on that stretch to share the load.
I'm going ahead and listing this one as a B: 15-15.5 average, 16-18 cruising on the flats.
Come on out and join us for a ride on our very popular shop ride loop! The loop will take us on some of the best roads the north shore has to offer. The distance is 35 miles and the pace will be between a 17-18 mph average. Feel free to give us a call if you have any questions!

No fee parking on side streets or across the street at LIRR station lot.
Ride the flat way to Commack, then rolling hills to Stony Brook. No Town of Smithtown Beaches this time an no Cordwood Path. Mostly flat return to Lindenhurst
Metric Century Plus with food stop at Fratellis in Stony Brook. Other pit stops as needed.
No go in rain.
We are well into the training rides at this point and more than half of the distance of the century. We will make a few stops today , one for food and one for more of a saddle break. Please come on time...I might move the time to 8:00 so check closer to the date of the ride for any adjustments.
We are getting closer!!!
We are past the half way point and we have been looking good considering the awful weather we have been experiencing. I am still planning out the route but most likely will be heading out to the Hamptons, one of my favorite rides out there. What would a Saturday training ride be if I didn't mention that it COULD rain. Things change so make sure you check back here during the week for either route change, time change or possible day change (could move to Sunday if the weather doesn't cooperate). I will post any final changes by 6 am Saturday morning. Hang in there, we can do this!
We are a go (6:30 am 4/12). Ride to Briermiere via Remsenburg, West Hamptom, Quogue. QUICK (only) stop at Briermere after the tank loop. Head back thru Manorville. Honest B. Dishonest riders welcome just take a cue sheet. I'll void my warranty if I try to catch you after a wrong turn.
** Only change is the start time to 9:30AM**. It’s off to Manorville today. The route is 35 miles, if I make any changes it will only add about 1 mile. The average pace for the ride will be between 13.9 to 14.3 mph. naturally, the road speed will be slightly higher to produce the average. I will keep the road speed comfortable depending on the wind direction. For those who want there will be a spot or two where one can stretch the legs. A rest/ food stop at Mc Donald’s or the bagel shop is scheduled about mile 20. No one will be dropped. Please check the ride calendar for any weather, or last minute cancellations which will be posted no later than 8:00AM if necessary. My cell number is 631.484.3490; call anytime if you have questions or need directions to the start.
IF YOU DIDN'T RIDE TUESDAY YOU SHOULD BE HERE TODAY! Another short easy ride to get in shape for this years ride season. Ride leaves from the south parking lot at 10AM. No one gets left behind. Any cancellation will be by 9AM. Be advised - after this I will start to post longer rides, so you better get with the program!
Mainly flat with a couple of steep short hills in the second 1/4 of the ride. Regroup after hills and as required.
Plan to average 17-18mph. There will be an option to do 30 miles, we will vote at ride start.
Updates for rain will be posted no later than 10:00 am. www.ridewithgps.com/routes/4341209
