NOTE:
Under the Ride Level details, the "Type: Road Bike" refers to the ride will be on paved roads (rather then off road trails). Although a Road Bike is suggested for Road Bike Type rides it is not required. Hybrid and mountain bikes can be used on these rides as well provided you are comfortable with the pace outline in the Posted Ride. This ride calendar is for club rides, club meetings, club event posts and shop rides only.

We will meet across the street from the Wantagh Train Station, at Brands Cycle and Fitness. Please park next to the railroad tracks or at the end of the block in the parking. Do not park in the store lot or the dinner. It is exit 28S, take Wantagh Ave South, take it towards Sunrise Hwy. As soon as you pass the Mcdonald's and you will go under an overpass, make a right and park there or the end of the block.
The ride will go through Westbury, Old Westbury, Brookville, Muttontown, Syosett, Plainview, Bethpage, and back.....See you there, goo alternative to doing Suffolk County every year.

Off to Manorville we go. We will break in Manorville before heading back. Pace will be between 15-15.5 mph , with the group staying together. We might add mileage if the group agrees and the weather surprises us! Check for updates the morning of the ride.

We'll head out of the Manorville King Kullen south through Remsenburg and Westhampton to Dune Rd, then out to the Shinnecock inlet, following Tim's group.
Lunch will be at Tully's .
Pace will be a fast B, average around 15+, and the route is dead flat.
Since last week's ride was cut short due to the rain I am replaying it for today. Destination has been changed from Briermere to Tully's and distance has been reduced from 40 to 35. Start time has also been moved up from 10AM to 9:30AM. Pace will be higher than previous weeks ( 13.5 - 14.5 ).
The bike path has been cleaned. How about taking a ride to Great River today? We will go the usual route through Connetquot Park and then do a loop in Heckscher Park where one can stretch the legs a bit. The route is mostly flat with 2 little hills. The average pace for this ride will be between 13.9. & 14.3 mph, naturally the road speed will be slightly higher to produce the average. We will be making a food/rest stop somewhere between miles 15 and 20. No one will be dropped. Always check the ride calendar for any weather, or last minute cancellations which will be posted no later than 8:00AM if necessary. Join us for a leisurely loop through Riverhead and South Jamesport to Briermere for a rest stop/snack. Leader will maintain a 13-15 mph level ground cruising speed. No one will be dropped.
Quick 20 from Holtsville Ecology center to Yaphank includes a stop at a deli. There is no parking fee until after Memorial Day at the Ecology center. No one left behind. Bring a spare tube and water bottle that fits securely in a water bottle cage. No POLAND SPRING type bottles. Cancellations will be posted by 9:30.
