This will be a B- ride. Expect an average between 14.9 and 15.0 Depending on many conditions this ride could come it a tad higher. In order to get this average the road speeds will be between 15.0 and 17.0 mph. Going downhill, or with the wind at your back will be faster. The main objective is to finish the ride without being too concerned about the average. The average will depend mainly on the wind, the hills, and who shows up. We will stay together and there will be one or two break-a-ways for those who want. We will take a break at the Beach and a rest stop at Wertheim about mile 10. Pulls would be appreciated.
After the ride Eduardo has invited us in for some GOOD Stuff.
If you have any questions, or concerns please text me at 631.484.3490. Should there be a cancelation, or change it will be posted by 7:15am.
Today's Mi Tierrita ride will be going to the Beach. The route is mostly flat with a small incline here and there. The average pace for the ride will be between 15 to 16.0 mph, depending on the roads and wind direction. The road speed will be between 17.0 and 18.0 mph. The usual break-a-ways will happen for those who desire. We'll stop along the way for a bathroom break around mile 10. Don’t forget to bring a snack. Pulls are appreciated.
Mid B- ride along some newly paved roads. A quick stop in Manorville for bathrooms, the main stop will be to see if there are any skydivers at the airport.
Off to Briermere's, with a brief stop to view the American Bison, if they are in a field near the road. Briermere's has picnic tables and indoor restrooms, a variety of individually sized baked treats, hot drinks, and pies. If there are enough riders to share the cost of a pie, bring money (small bills). To join the ride, text Bill G. at 631-356-3036 with your full name and date of ride. Any changes will be posted by 07:30am day of ride.
Ir's looking good for Thursday, maybe this song stopped the rain! https://youtu.be/JWnVzE4FJvc (Unfortunately it's not looking good for Friday and Saturday).
So, let's meet across from the Maples for a Controlledpaceline ride out to Briermere Farms on some rolling terrain. We'll have a stop at Briermere for some scones, etc. and a few good stories. Then it's back through the fields, saying hello to the goats, while we ride downwind all the way home!
Plan on riding a mellow recovery pace after Wednesday's ride. AND let's save some legs for the Tour of the Hamptons!
It's time to settle down and prepair for winter so come on out and join me for lunch at All American Burger. We'll stop for lunch and than head back. This ride is super flat but may include a headwind. No worries. Tom, bring your wallet!
