For this Flat ride the Average speed is 11.5-12.5mph depending on riders, wind, tide, position of moon and leaders disposition with a distance of 18-23 miles. Nobody gets left behind and newbies always welcome and well taken care of. Any cancellation will be before 7:30am. No need to text me.

Park in south side lot across from RR station.

I'm going to add 2 miles and we are going to the beach for this ride. This will be a LOW B- ride, which means we will be coming in with an average between 14 and 14.5. We have be doing this when we were riding a C+/B- so you know you can do it. In order to get this average the road speeds will be between 14.5 and 16.5 mph. Going downhill, or with the wind at your back will be faster. The main objective is to finish the ride without being too concerned about the average. The average will depend mainly on the wind, the hills, and who shows up. We will stay together and there will be one or two break-a-ways for those who want. We wil l take a break at the Beach and a rest stop at Wertheim about mile 10. Pulls would be appreciated.

At the end of the ride you are welcome to stop in and have an empanada cooked by Eduardo and drink some aguapanela.

Today's Mi Tierrita ride will be going to the Beach.  The route is mostly flat with a small incline here and there.  The average pace for the ride will be between 15 to 16.0 mph, depending on the roads and wind direction. The road speed will be between 17.0 and 18.0 mph. The usual break-a-ways will happen for those who desire. We'll stop along the way for a bathroom break around mile 10. Don’t forget to bring a snack. Do you know what AGUAPANELA is? Come and find out.  Pulls are appreciated. Cyclists coming with "E" bikes must stay at the end of the bike line.

We will be following weather and may adjust mileage and pace as appropriate. We are hopeful that we will have some cool breezes off of the water during the ride.  Please be sure to bring plenty of hydration. 

The East End Ride series continues, this time with a concentraion on water views and beaches through parts of the Hamptons. We will head out on a journey that includes beautiful riding, amazing vistas, beaches, some incredible homes (and quite a number of absoulte monstrosities), a few dead ends where we can ohh and ahh, a hidden cove and did I mention water views.  Weekday Southfork rides, like this one, start at 10:00 AM at the Hampton Bays LIRR train station (there is free parking) to avoid the morning trade parade traffic jam that exists during the morning rush beyond Hampton Bays.

Overall, we will be running much of the ride as more of a tour, enjoying the scenery, surroundings and views; nonetheless, riders should be able to maintain at least 15-16 mph on the flats when necessary (like our interludes on Montauk Highway). Our Hampton riding ends at the East Hampton train station, where we will take the 3:10 train back to Hampton Bays (fare is $3.25 regular or $1.50 senior).  Train ride is supposed to be a bit over 30 minutes.  Please bring a bungee cord to hang your bike.

We will not be making a stop to buy food during the ride, so, please bring lunch, snacks and sufficient hydration. We will make a few stops where one will have time for a quick snack or sandwich, but we will have an eye to make sure we make our return train.  Most importantly bring an upbeat inquisitive attitude ready to explore and discover.
