NOTE:
Under the Ride Level details, the "Type: Road Bike" refers to the ride will be on paved roads (rather then off road trails). Although a Road Bike is suggested for Road Bike Type rides it is not required. Hybrid and mountain bikes can be used on these rides as well provided you are comfortable with the pace outline in the Posted Ride. This ride calendar is for club rides, club meetings, club event posts and shop rides only.
For Other Events in our area and off Long Island check out the "Other Rides & Events calendar" and the "Forums"

We will be doing a route around Holbrook, perhaps a little of Patchogue, and Medford. Think Woodside Ave, East direction. only I plan on coming in with an average between 13.6 to 14 mph, plus or minus a bit depending on how we all feel. In order to that average the road speed will be between 14 and 16 mph. Things could change slightly due to the road conditions and the wind. We will take water breaks as necessary, no food stops. After the ride if you want we can go to the bagel shop and BS for awhile. Help in pulling the ride would be appreciated, but not required.
If you have any questions, or concerns please text me at 631.484.3490. Should there be a cancelation or change it will be posted by 7:45am.
If I don't hear from anyone, I will leave from home -- so please be sure to text that you're coming. My cell: 631-835-1454.
The old route through Stony Brook/Setauket. When we get to the hills, take whatever speed, fast or slow, and we'll meet at the top. Expect an average of 13+. No bathroom break, just a snack stop at the lighthouse. Any changes or cancellation will be posted by 8:00 morning of ride. New hill riders welcome.
Off to Bean and Bagel, which has outdoor seating covered by a tent top, and indoor restrooms. We will be riding on mostly local roads in Manorville and Calverrton, with some miles on the Grumman Trail. To join, text Bill G. at 631-356-3036 with your full name and date of ride. Check the ride calendar the day of the ride for changes, which would be posted by 08:00am.
Take a tour of some beautiful North Shore scenery. This is a good chance to get a little hill training in. This ride has some long flat sections and some long easy gradual satisfying grades both up and down. There are a couple of steeper climbs but those are short. We'll be slower than C+/B- on some ups and faster down!! There's nothing to worry about because we'll be patient and take appropriate wait ups as we all try to get into shape! This is a great way to get your feet wet on some moderate hills or possibly at the beach. After the ride, reward yourself at Little Vincent's for arguably one of Long Islands's best slices.
Bring $ and snacks. Pizza is cash only. There are no food stops during the ride. There will be quick scenic breaks for snacks with restrooms available.
First ride back since battling Sciatica.. will take a slow pace to see how I hold up. I posted as a B+ but could come in a tick faster based off Riders and My endurance.
We will be meeting this week at Cathedral Pines Upper Lot.
This will be a weekly friendly group ride serving as an opportunity to meet other women to ride the trails with. No one will be dropped. We will split into groups if necessary.
Feel free to text me if you have any questions or concerns.
