Century Training Ride (CTR) #3 : We are moving the ride up to Friday this week, as the weather for the weekend looks rainy! This time we'll put in 53 miles; getting deeper into our training for the Century!
This week the Thunderbirds paceline further out onto the North Fork to Cutchogue, where we will have a food stop at around 28 miles. We'll again ride through Riverhead and head along Peconic Bay, but this time we'll head farther east and see Grathwohl Rd and New Suffolk Road.
So get your bike ready for some distance riding!
The pace will be in the mid to high B/B+ pace, so that everyone can finish.
This will be an easy & flat C ride around Center Moriches, on a modified route to keep out of any winds that may crop up. We will average 11.0 - 11.5, and will be taking our break at Nettie's. There are some very nice water views along the way. No one gets dropped and we will be observing spacing rules, etc. Since the exact route will be determined as we go along, there will not be a cue sheet.
Please text me to let me know you are joining the ride.
Riders should arrive at least 15 minutes before the ride start, to allow enough time for me to get everyone signed in and to "get yourself" ready.
Orient Point ride changed due to weather conditions out East. We will be going to Nettie's Bakery instead, see change in starting point. To join the ride, text Bill G. at 631-356-3036, with your full name and date of ride.
Hilly Thursday is now Friday 31. Depending on Time ride will be between 27-31 miles. Please text me if you plan to Ride by 2pm.
