This is an A- paced ride.  Early Birds is a faster ride.  It starts at the Manorville King Kullen at 7:30.   Our ride at 8:00 should be a brisk pace club ride not the Shoot Out at the OK Corral.  If you find yourself pulling above 24 you're going too fast. Thanks in advance for respecting the post

One 7-11 stop with some occasional regroups. Hope to see you there.

Details (RL read field instructions carefully):

Join me for this scenic Almost flat C- ride, cruising speed will be around 10-11mph.

This is more of a tour than a typical club ride. We will be stopping to enjoy the view along the way.

This ride is for seasoned riders who are Extremely comfortable riding on roads without shoulders.

We will be starting from Northport Cow Harbor Park, Cruise parallel to Northport Harbor on historic Bayview Ave. Then ride through what was until 1968, the Steers Sand and Gravel Company AKA "the Pit," now a quiet bayside  community of private homes and condos. We will then head out to Asharoken along the narrow causeway for a few miles. Along Asharoken ave to our left will be  Northport Bay and to our Right Long Island Sound and Connecticut. We will then head to Bevin rd with its wonderfully restored Historic Victorian Bevin mansion along with many architecturally interesting homes. On our return trip we will retrace our route  with further exploration of "The Pit."

Upon our return to Northport Village we will stop at the well known Copenhagen Bakery for a snack to enjoy harbor side at the park. There is a bathroom at the town park & town beach as well as Copenhagen.

Please always check back here for any changes before leaving for the ride

Please arrive at least 15 minutes before the ride start so we get rolling on time.

I'm limiting the number of riders, Please text me with your Name, SBRA Member Number & Emergency Contact Number. I will return your text confirming your spot on the ride, or that its full.

Details (RL read field instructions carefully):

Today's’ route to Great River will change up a bit towards the end of the ride - if the wind is in our favor; making this route pretty flat except for 2 overpasses. We will go the usual route heading south using the Connetquot Park bike bath. We’ll work our way down to Heckscher Park, do a loop where one can stretch the legs a bit if desired. Taking turns pulling would be appreciated! I would like to keep the road speed  between 16 & 17 mph and come in at an average between 14 and 15.0

 Good Stuff after the Ride.
