NOTE:
Under the Ride Level details, the "Type: Road Bike" refers to the ride will be on paved roads (rather then off road trails). Although a Road Bike is suggested for Road Bike Type rides it is not required. Hybrid and mountain bikes can be used on these rides as well provided you are comfortable with the pace outline in the Posted Ride. This ride calendar is for club rides, club meetings, club event posts and shop rides only.

Looking for a bigger challenge? How about Rockin' Down the Highway to the tune of 64 miles? With the Doobie Brothers: https://youtu.be/jHCMG3sNYUA
We'll start a little earlier at 8:30 AM, to get ahead of the heat and winds. We'll head through the fields to Briermere Farms and then it's off to the Tanks and Mattituck. After a quick stop, it's back along Peconic Bay Boulevard to Riverhead and then Forge Road and River Road, before we head back to Manorville.
There will be lots of rolling terrain and the farms of the North Fork along the way. We'll keep a group together to fight the winds, but there will be places like the Tanks, where everyone can go at their own pace.
We hope to see you, as we prepare for a centuty and the longer rides of the Summer.
I'm looking to stay within the B+/A- ride classification while increasing the mileage. The overall ride average somewhere between 18mph and 19mph (hopefully on the higher end), which will depend on the group, the winds, etc. Max cruising speeds should be 21-22mph.
We'll regroup at the end of Pleasure Drive (mile 27) and take a 10-15 minute break at Main Road Biscuit (mile 37).
This 21-25 mile ride will be at an 11-12 pace depending on riders, wind, tide, position of moon and ride leaders disposition. No one gets left behind (unless your name is "noone") and newbies always welcome and well taken care of. Bring water and a snack as a back up to planned rest stops. Any cancellation will be before 7:30AM.
At the end of the ride we will be doing a tailgate get-together with many of our fellow club members.
This ride goes to Nettie's for our break. Netties has baked goods and hot drinks, bathrooms and a large outdoor area with seating. Feel free to bring snacks for tailgating on our return. Masks may be required at Nettie's, since rules keep changing. Please text me at 631-356-3036 to let me know you are coming. Check the ride calendar the day of the ride for changes, which would be posted by 07:30am.
Join us for a Multi Level( all rides levels welcome) today. This will be a B/B+ where we will make a stop out in Manorville and head back for some tailgate fun. If you plan to stay after the ride please bring something to snack on and share with some of your SBRA friends. No pressure here.. you can always just mingle and chat with your friends.
