Details (RL read field instructions carefully):

While many people are participating in today's century ride, some members do not want a long ride or only have a few hours to devote to riding today, like myself.

So, I am posting this C ride (average 11.6 and 12.1) for those who want to get out for a few hours, at a relaxing pace. Join me for this ride around Holbrook, Ronkonkoma, and Bohemia, then down to Sayville and back up to Ronkonkoma and the ride start. We will take our break at the Gourmet Bagel Co. on Lakeland Ave., where beverages, food, and a bathroom are available. Adjustments to the route direction and/or distances may be made due to the prevailing winds and/or temperature changes.

Details (RL read field instructions carefully):

We will take a 30 mile tour of Islip town. Some of the roads we are already familar with while some others will be new to most of us. This is the first time doing this route, I am still working on developing it, and hopefully by ride time I will have it down pat. I am figuring the ride to be 30 miles at a B- pace with road speeds from 14-16.5, with wind to our backs maybe 17mph. Depending on my final route we may possible be a mile or two plus or minus. I am hoping for a minimum of 30 miles and maximum of 32 miles. We will take a break around 14-15 at the Islip Terrace Bagel Bakery. Please don't eat too much at this break as I have hired a specially talented baker who will be supplying cup cakes at the finish.

Any cancellations due to weather will be posted by 8:00am, feel free to contact me if you should have any questions 516-983-4827.

Please park in Sayville Railroad parking lot south of the RR tracks in the lot next to Greene Ave.

Details (RL read field instructions carefully):

It's off to Manorville. The average pace for the ride will be between 14.6 to 15.0 mph +/- depending on the roads, wind direction, rider ability or other conditions. Naturally, the road speed will be higher (15 -17 mph.) to produce the average. The route might vary slightly from last week depending on conditions. A rest/ food stop at McDonald’s or the bagel shop is on the schedule around mile 16. There are a few places along the route where leg stretches can be done for those who wish to do so. There is no obligation for anyone to do this; you can hang back with me.

Please check the ride calendar for any weather, or last minute cancellations which will be posted no later than 7:30am, if necessary. My cell number is 631.484.3490; call or text me anytime if you have questions about the ride
