This will be a B- ride. Expect an average between 14.9 and 15.0 Depending on many conditions this ride could come it a tad higher. In order to get this average the road speeds will be between 15.0 and 17.0 mph. Going downhill, or with the wind at your back will be faster. The main objective is to finish the ride without being too concerned about the average. The average will depend mainly on the wind, the hills, and who shows up. We will stay together and there will be one or two break-a-ways for those who want. We will take a break at the Beach and a rest stop at Wertheim about mile 10. Pulls would be appreciated.
After the ride Eduardo has invited us in for some GOOD Stuff.
If you have any questions, or concerns please text me at 631.484.3490. Should there be a cancelation, or change it will be posted by 7:30am.
Today's Mi Tierrita ride will be going to the Beach. The route is mostly flat with a small incline here and there. The average pace for the ride will be between 15 to 16.0 mph, depending on the roads and wind direction. The road speed will be between 16.0 and 17.0 mph. The usual break-a-ways will happen for those who desire. We'll stop along the way for a bathroom break around mile 10. Don’t forget to bring a snack. Do you know what AGUAPANELA is? Come and find out. Pulls are appreciated.
Leaving the Maples lot, It's off to Briermere Farms, to start off the new SBRA Cycling Year. Yes, it's time to start getting in miles for the 2023-2024 year!
This will be a paceline ride, and we'll have a few places to unleash your legs. Besides the do it at your-own-pace sections, we will all stay together! As it's getting colder, the pace may be a little slower and we'll have a more gradual warm-up...
Plan on a break at around 19 miles, for some Briermere stuff!
Time is changed from 09:00 to 09:30 to pick up a few degrees in temperature: Off to Briermere's, with a brief viewing stop of the American Bison, if they are in a field near the road. Briermere's has picnic tables, indoor bathrooms, and a variety of muffins, cookies and hot and cold drinks. If enough riders are interested in sharing the cost of a pie, that is also an option. To join this ride, text Bill G. at 631-356-3036 with your full name and date of ride. Check the ride calendar the day of the ride for changes, which would be posted by 07:45am.
Ride starts at Islip Bank of America and goes around the Islips. This is a C+/B- ride, cruising at 14 to 15 mph to get an average of 13 to 14 mph. Any changes will be posted at least 90 minutes before the ride.
