NOTE:
Under the Ride Level details, the "Type: Road Bike" refers to the ride will be on paved roads (rather then off road trails). Although a Road Bike is suggested for Road Bike Type rides it is not required. Hybrid and mountain bikes can be used on these rides as well provided you are comfortable with the pace outline in the Posted Ride. This ride calendar is for club rides, club meetings, club event posts and shop rides only.
For Other Events in our area and off Long Island check out the "Other Rides & Events calendar" and the "Forums"

This scenic ride will head north to Manorville using Clancy, South Rd, Dayton and Barnes to get down to the bay area of Moriches, Eastport and Remsenburg. The break stop will be at Andersen's East Deli in East Moriches. This true B ride will average 15.5 to 16.0mph depending on wind speeds, heat and humidity.

LOOKS LIKE A PERCIPITATION EVENT FOR THE WHOLE DAY SO RIDE CANCELLED - STILL MEETING AT JR'S 12:30 FOR LUNCH
Ride 23ish miles around Calverton/Manorville at a 10.5-11.5 pace and after the ride go to JR's for lunch. Hopefully other ride leaders will post also. As always nobody left behind and Newbies always welcome. Any cancellation will be by 8am.
THIS IS ONE REASON SOME PEOPLE CAN'T LOSE WEIGHT BY BIKE RIDING. Everyone had a great time on this ride for the last two years, so we are doing it again! There will be a number of ride leaders with different distances and speeds, so pick the one which suites you.
This year, however, we are starting the ride from the Calverton Memorial Park. Once we return from the ride will just drive a short distance down the road to J&R's for lunch (at your own cost). We are not making reservations for tables or giving a head-count, and will figure out the seating when we get there. Since this is a Monday, and the past 2 times were weekend days, we expect the restaurant shouldn't be very busy.

My ride will be a C+/B-, with an average of 13.6 - 14.0.
Route Change: We will be riding around Manorville and Calverton, then up to Wildwood State Park for our break. We'll return down to the bike path and then follow it around the property, back to the ride start. There will be cue sheets and nobody left behind.
Posting another level of ride to join in the celebration of Tom's birthday. Read other posts for more info but if you choose, you can join us at JRs for lunch afterwards (self pay). You can do the ride and not come for lunch. I'm not sure of exact route and mileage yet but it'll be close to what's posted.
