Under the Ride Level details, the "Type: Road Bike" refers to the ride will be on paved roads (rather then off road trails). Although a Road Bike is suggested for Road Bike Type rides it is not required. Hybrid and mountain bikes can be used on these rides as well provided you are comfortable with the pace outline in the Posted Ride. This ride calendar is for club rides, club meetings, club event posts and shop rides only.

There is a municipal parking lot on Bay Street just past the cycling shop.
Please check the route before you arrive.
A pleasant trip out to the point from Sag Harbor. One planned stop at 7-11 on the way back. I would like to be done by 11 so we can beat the traffic out of there. This can be a pleasant way to visit the point and not log 110+ miles.
For those of you who have never gone to the point, it is hilly and might surprise you. It's a good idea to go past the town of Montauk before you do the Tour Of The Hamptons.
We will be riding about 15 car free miles on the Grumman trail, free of Labor Day traffic. Our break will be at mile 14 at the McDonald's in Manorville. There is a bagel shop next door if you are in the mood for one. For info: contact Bill G. at 631-356-3036. Check the ride calendar the day of the ride for changes, which would be posted by 06:45am.
Bring $ or snacks for a deli stop in Yapank. This ride will average between 14.0-14.5mph with cruising speeds slightly higher. There is a rumor that a long lost bike friend will be riding with us and she has a brand new bike.
Join me for a ride around Holbrook, Ronkonkoma, and Bohemia, then down to Sayville and back up to Ronkonkoma and the ride start. We will take our break at the Gourmet Bagel Co. on Lakeland Ave., where beverages, food, and a bathroom are available.
This will be a C+ ride which will average 12.5 - 12.9 and there will be cue sheets.
NOTE: for couples that ride different levels, this matches up well with Tom's C ride at 9AM.
Depending on wind, tide and position of moon we will ride approx. 20ish miles at a 10-11.5 mph pace from Ronk station. Be ready to roll at posted time with water, fully inflated tires and helmet. Newbies always welcome and well taken care of and nobody gets left behind. Be there or be square. Cancellation for any reason will be posted by 8am.
