Warmup ride to Wading River. We will do a series of hilly sections with regroups after each one. Then cruise back to Manorville. 15 mile extra loop is an option.
SORRY I HAVE TO CANCEL, BUT WE ARE HAVING WORK ON THE HOUSE STARTING WEDNESDAY MORNING
EARLIER START TIME DUE TO THE HIGH TEMPERATURE FORECAST
This will be a structured C+ ride, with an average of 12.3 - 12.9, with cue sheets, and no one will be dropped.
We will ride from Patchogue through Blue Point, to Sayville, around Holtsville, into Bellport, and back to Patchogue. We will take a break at the Holtsville Ecology Center, so bring snacks (or you may pick something up at 7-Eleven).
It’s off to Manorville. The average pace for the ride will be between 14.8 to 15.0 mph +/ depending on the roads, wind direction and other conditions which could put the ride in the lower part of a "B". Naturally, the road speed will be higher (15 -17 mph.) to produce the average. A rest/ food stop at McDonald’s or the bagel shop is on the schedule around mile 12. There are a few places along the route where leg stretches can be done for those who wish.
Please check the ride calendar for any weather, or last minute cancellations which will be posted no later than 7:30AM, if necessary. My cell number is 631.484.3490; call anytime if you have questions about the ride or need directions to the start.
Taking a short ride to get warmed up for the 6pm Rolller Coaster...it's hilly but will be taking it easy to enjoy views down around Stony Brook Harbor and around the pond. Please arrive in time to leave promptly at 4:45pm so we can be back for the 6pm ride.
Leave the Manorville King Kullen for a training ride on the Grumman Loop, where we'll do three or four laps. Group rides together to the Loop for a warmup and back to the start for a cool down. We can always throw in a couple of sprints to make it interesting...
Not really changed but, it was the best word on the list. Tomorrow is expected to be very hi temps and humid. The ride lives - dinner also! But, we'll be prudent as we ride and see just how things go. So, be prepared for a somewhat lighter ride.
Scenic backroads ride thru the Smithtown-Stonybrook area: historic places, great views, great sunsets, great folks. We are a diverse group out for an good ride and fun nite. Dinner apres ride.
