NOTE:
Under the Ride Level details, the "Type: Road Bike" refers to the ride will be on paved roads (rather then off road trails). Although a Road Bike is suggested for Road Bike Type rides it is not required. Hybrid and mountain bikes can be used on these rides as well provided you are comfortable with the pace outline in the Posted Ride. This ride calendar is for club rides, club meetings, club event posts and shop rides only.

Join us for a series of loops in scenic Harriman State Park. Planned route has 4 hilly loops and 5300+ feet of climbs, with the option to shorten the ride as the loops start and end near the car. There are bathroom & water stops, bring your own food. Bring dollars if you want to use the soda machines.
Ride is rated B+, not for average but for effort and bike handling skills required on long and steep climbs and descents.
Harriman State Park is around 1 hour and 20 minutes from Rte. 110 and Northern State Parkway.
Please email me if you plan to come, in case of changes, etc. My email address is tom at tomfarre dot com.
Ride to the Bellport dock. Bring snacks or $ for deli stop in Bellport. We will stick together and no one gets dropped. We will average 15.3-15.8mph for this ride depending on conditions with cruising speeds 1.0 to 1.5 mph faster
This is my usual to Manorville but adding a few miles down Mill and back on Grumman before stopping for our break at McDonalds. This will be a paceline. Average will be high B/B+
The ride will be almost the same as the Sunday Great River 28 Ride, just a different start and end; we will NOT DO the Vets Hwy overpass. We will go the usual route through Connetquot Park and then do a loop in Heckscher Park where one can stretch the legs a bit. It will have one pee stop, then an ice-cream or yogurt stop (around mile 30), with or without toppings; calories are free. If you don’t want the sweet stuff you can get coffee and other things; too many to mention. The average pace for the ride will be between 14.7 to 15.0 mph, +/- depending on the roads, wind direction, and other conditions which could put the ride in the lower part of a "B". The road speed will be between 15 and 17 mph.
Please check the ride calendar for any weather, or last minute cancellations which will be posted no later than 7:30 AM if necessary. My cell number is 631.484.3490; call anytime if you have questions.
Sorry for the late post but I couldn't make up my mind any sooner. Want to do a ride with others instead of going way out East or at a fast pace. So, let's see who shows up for this nice ride at an 11.5-12.9 pace (depending on wind, tide, position of moon and riders ability). Any cancellation by 8:30am. As always, newbies always welcome and nobody gets dropped as wait ups are always guaranteed. Okay, there will be chocolate chip cookies and cold drinks when we get back. Also, there will be a $100 bill tucked under the windshield wiper of everyone's car.
